He disguised himself as a poor beggar and asked Hades for a coin to buy food. Hades, who was known for his stinginess, refused and asked Zeus to leave.

Zeus then cast a spell on Hades's chariot, causing it to break down in the middle of the road. Hades was forced to walk all the way back to the underworld, which infuriated him even more. From then on, Zeus and Hades became sworn enemies and constantly tried to outwit each other.
