推理故事英語：The Mystery of the Missing Painting

One day, a famous art gallery was visited by a group of visitors. Among them was a young man named John who was interested in the gallery's collection of paintings. While admiring one of the masterpieces, he suddenly noticed that a painting that had been hanging on the wall was missing.

Everyone in the group was stunned. They searched the gallery and even checked with the security team, but they couldn't find the painting anywhere. They were all baffled by the mystery of its disappearance.

John, however, had a hunch that he knew who had taken the painting. He began to investigate and soon discovered that someone had left through a secret door in the gallery's basement. He followed the trail and eventually found the painting hidden in a storage room.

When he presented the painting to the gallery owner, she was amazed and thanked John for solving the mystery. John realized that he had proved his mettle as a detective and was eager to solve more mysteries in the future.
