經典英文小故事

以下是一個經典的英文小故事:

The Boy Who Cried Wolf

There was once a boy who lived by himself in the woods. One day, he heard a wolf in the distance and he was very scared. He decided to call the local village to ask for help.

"Help me, there's a wolf in the woods!" he cried.

The villagers came and found that there was no wolf. They laughed at the boy and said, "You're making a big fuss over nothing."

The next day, the boy heard the wolf again and he cried for help again. The villagers came again, but there was no wolf this time. They laughed even harder and said, "You're such a liar."

The day after that, the boy cried wolf for the third time. The villagers were so angry that they didn't believe him when he cried for help. They left him alone in the woods and he had to fend for himself.

Finally, a real wolf came and attacked the boy. He screamed for help, but no one came to his aid. The boy died from his wounds and the villagers realized their mistake. From then on, they always believed a boy who cried wolf when there was really a problem.

This story teaches us that we should not make false alarms or overreact to minor issues. We should always be cautious and use our common sense, but we should also be able to distinguish between real danger and imagined problems.
