Once upon a time, there was a cunning fox who lived in a forest. He was always looking for ways to get what he wanted without getting caught. One day, he saw a farmer walking with a big basket of fruit on his back. The fox knew that the farmer would be leaving the village soon and he could steal some of the fruit before he left.

But the farmer was an experienced farmer and he had a dog with him. The dog would surely bark and wake up everyone if he saw the fox. So the fox came up with a plan.

He waited for the farmer and his dog to walk past him and then he pretended to be very upset and distressed. He started to howl and cry loudly, trying to make it sound like he had lost his way and was lost in the forest. The farmer and his dog stopped to see what was wrong and when they did, the fox darted into the bushes and hid.

The farmer and his dog looked around for a while but couldn't find anything. They assumed that the fox must have left the area, so they continued on their way. The fox waited until they were out of sight and then he came out and took some of the fruit.
