故事標題: Chinese New Year Monster

英文版:

Once upon a time, there was a Chinese New Year monster. This monster was known as the Nian Yau Shou, which translates to "Year Beast". This beast was said to bring bad luck and misfortune to people.

Every year, as the Nian Yau Shou approached, people would run away from their homes, trying to avoid it. They would stay up all night to keep vigilant, hoping to ward off the beast.

However, one year, a wise old man came to town and taught the people a secret way to defeat the Nian Yau Shou. He said that in order to drive away the beast, they needed to decorate their houses with red paper cutouts, set off fireworks, and pray to the gods.

The people followed the wise man's instructions and waited for the Nian Yau Shou. When it finally came, they saw that it was not as terrifying as they had imagined. Instead, it was just a harmless creature looking for a warm place to rest.

The people welcomed the Nian Yau Shou into their homes and treated it kindly. They fed it with sweet foods and set up red paper cutouts to ward off evil spirits. As they did so, they chanted blessings and prayers for the Nian Yau Shou to leave them in peace for another year.

And so, from that day on, the people of the town had good luck and prosperity for many years to come. They knew that they had defeated the Nian Yau Shou with the help of the wise man and their own kindness and goodwill.

Nowadays, we still celebrate Chinese New Year with family and friends, decorating our houses with red paper cutouts, setting off fireworks, and praying to the gods. We also tell stories of the Nian Yau Shou to remind ourselves of the importance of kindness and goodwill in our lives.
