"It's truly an honor and a privilege to be standing here today, among so many greats, in this hallowed hall of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. My name is Yao Ming, and I come from China.

I've been playing this game since I was very young, and it's given me so much. It's taught me teamwork, discipline, and sacrifice. It's given me friends, family, and a chance to represent my country on the world stage. But most importantly, it's given me the opportunity to inspire young people like you to pursue their dreams and to never give up.

I remember when I first came to the United States to play basketball, I was nervous and unsure about everything. But I quickly realized that the true beauty of this game is that it's about more than just winning and losing. It's about growth, about learning, about pushing yourself beyond what you think you're capable of.

And that's what this Hall of Fame means to me. It's not just about the victories and the championships, but about the journey, about the struggle, about the endless hours of practice and the failures that led to success. This is where legends are made, and I am proud to be counted among them.

So as I leave this stage today, I leave it with even more gratitude for this game and for the opportunity it's given me. But most importantly, I leave it with a message: Don't let anyone define your success by what they think you should be. Follow your passion, pursue your dreams, and never give up.
