成語故事英語：The Monkey and the Snake (猴子和蛇的故事)

Once upon a time, a monkey and a snake lived in the same forest. The monkey was very clever, while the snake was cunning and tricky. One day, the monkey found a ripe banana and was about to pick it up when the snake came up and tried to take it away from him. The monkey quickly realized that the snake was trying to trick him and refused to give up the banana.

The snake then decided to use his cunningness to outsmart the monkey. He pretended to be friendly and said, "Monkey, I'm sorry if I tried to take your banana. I'm a nice snake and we can be friends if you like." The monkey was suspicious but also felt that the snake might be telling the truth. So he agreed to let the snake join him for a meal.

During the meal, the monkey found out that the snake was still scheming and tried to trick him again. However, the monkey was now more wary and managed to outsmart the snake by using his intelligence and cunningness. He hid the banana and left the snake feeling disappointed and frustrated.

This story teaches us that we should always be wary of those who try to deceive us, but also that we should be open to new friendships and relationships if they seem genuine. Finally, it reminds us that intelligence and cunningness are important tools in our arsenal when dealing with life's challenges.
