春節英語作文：Spring Festival

Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival in China. It is also known as Chinese New Year. During this festival, people usually go back to their hometowns to celebrate with their families.

The atmosphere is lively and full of joy and happiness. People usually decorate their houses and shops with red paper cutouts and couplets with Chinese characters. These red decorations symbolize good luck and happiness.

On the eve of Spring Festival, families gather together to have a family reunion dinner, which usually includes fish, which symbolizes prosperity and wealth. After dinner, people usually light firecrackers to drive away bad luck and evil spirits. In the morning, children will get red envelopes from their parents or grandparents as a symbol of blessings.

Apart from family reunions, there are also many other customs and rituals during this festival. People will burn fireworks and set off fireworks shows to express their wishes and expectations for the coming year. They also decorate their houses with spring couplets and try to make a clean sweep to get rid of bad luck.
