英文典故故事:The Boy Who Cried Wolf(喊狼的男孩)

Once upon a time, there was a boy who lived in a village where wolves were a common problem. One day, the boy saw a wolf sneaking up on his village and cried out, "Wolf! Wolf is coming!" People in the village ran out and the boy was praised by the villagers for his bravery.

However, he became so used to crying "wolf" that when there was really a wolf in the village next time, nobody paid attention to his call. This time, he really did see a wolf and ran out of the village shouting, "Wolf! The village is under attack!" But nobody came to help him because they thought he was making a false alarm again.

Finally, the boy cried "wolf" so many times that no one believed him when he really needed help. The wolf ate all the animals in the village and then left. When the villagers came back, they found the boy crying and no one believed him. They said, "You always said there was a wolf around here, but we didn't believe you." The boy became very sad and left the village alone.

This story teaches us that when someone raises false alarms repeatedly, it can cause others to lose trust in them when they really need help. Therefore, it is important to be reliable and truthful when communicating with others.
