今年幾個世界大國首腦都參加了「八國峰會」，這次的主題是世界經濟、能源問題和氣候變化。經濟發展離不開環境話題，能源使用必然污染環境，而氣候變化就是經濟發展和環境問題矛盾的產物。安徽的城鄉清潔工程表面就是環境整治問題。學校的兩基工作從某種意義上來說其實就是學校環境改變沒有。2008年北京奧運會也離不開環保這個主題。「八榮八恥」也有部分內容是關於環保主題的。總之，環境保護是當今世界難題。

Recently we have held a class meeting to discuss what is
considered to be honorable behavior and what is shameful. It is really a pity to see all this in our school.Some students don』t respect their teachers or parents.
