Summary of the 2002 National Earthquake Monthly Cataloging Work

I. Work Overview In 2002, under the joint efforts of the earthquake cataloging units of the earthquake bureaus of the provinces and cities of the country and the earthquake cataloging department of the China Earthquake Administration's analysis and forecasting center, the national earthquake monthly report cataloging work was successfully completed, and the earthquakes were analyzed and forecasted by the provincial and municipal seismological bureaus. The department timely provides continuous and reliable microseismic catalogue data services, and contributes to China's earthquake monitoring, forecasting and scientific research with its own obscure work. In 2002, the earthquake cataloging units of the provincial and municipal seismological bureaus completed the compilation of 40,801 entries in the microseismic catalogue and completed the compilation of the corresponding seismic observation reports. The online submission time of the earthquake monthly report of the earthquake cataloging units of the provincial and municipal seismological bureaus is 4-10 days ahead of the regulations. The China Earthquake Administration's Analysis and Forecast Center has completed the collection, management and compilation of micro-seismic catalogue data of various provinces and cities across the country. In 2002, the China Earthquake Administration's Analysis and Forecast Center compiled and produced 19,102 entries for the National Microseismic Catalogue. The catalogue data of the National Seismic Monthly Report was sent to the APnet network four days earlier than the specified time. After the earthquakes of Shidian 5.9, May 24, 2002, and the Yongsheng 6.0 earthquake on October 24, 2002, the comrades of the Yunnan Earthquake Administration catalogue team overcame difficulties and worked proactively. Ensure the timely output of the aftershock sequence catalog and provide analysis and forecasting department use. The comrades of the Qinghai Bureau cataloging team worked hard after the Kunlunshan 8.1 earthquake on November 14, 2002 to ensure the timely output of the aftershock sequence catalog. Their work spirit should be commended. Second, the National Earthquake Monthly Cataloging Quality Evaluation Work was commissioned by the Bureau of Monitoring and Forecasting. The quality cataloging of the 2002 earthquake catalogue was held in Hefei from May 14 to 16, 2006. The National Earthquake Monthly Cataloging Technical Management Team invited Yunnan and Sichuan. The earthquake cataloging personnel of Liaoning, Fujian, Anhui, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Hunan, Jiangxi, Chongqing Seismological Bureau, Forecast Analysis and Forecast Center and other units participated in the appraisal work. This catalogue quality appraisal, reviewed the work points of the catalogues, newsletters and correspondence reports of the 2002 annual database of each cataloging unit, and checked the intrinsic quality of the monthly report catalogue in June 2002. The results of the evaluation and the main problems that have existed have been returned to the cataloguing groups of each unit in a textual manner so that each unit can be improved as soon as possible in the cataloging work of the new year. After careful evaluation by the review team, the results of the 2002 National Seismic Monthly Cataloging Quality Evaluation are as follows: Category 1 Bureau: First Place: Geophysical Institute Cataloging Group 2nd: Xinjiang Bureau Cataloging Group Excellent: Sichuan Bureau Cataloging Group, Gansu Bureau Cataloging Group , Yunnan Bureau Cataloging Group, Liaoning Bureau Cataloging Group, Hebei Bureau Cataloging Group. The main problems in the cataloging work of the earthquake monthly report The 2002 earthquake monthly report cataloging quality review found that the number and speed of the catalogue of earthquake monthly reports have been greatly improved in all units that have completed the digital construction of the network. The standardization of the directory format of the online earthquake monthly report of each cataloging unit has made significant progress, but there are still certain problems. The letter of the monthly report catalog needs to be strengthened. Since some provinces and municipalities have completed the construction and use of the digital network, and the “Regional Network Monthly Report” is only suitable for the use of analog networks, the digital network has no way of complying with the relevant regulations. It is recommended that the competent authorities should pay close attention to the revision of the “Regional Network Monthly Reporting Specification”. The main problems found in the quality review of this year's earthquake monthly report are summarized as follows: 1. There are certain problems in the data consistency and standardization of the online monthly report and the monthly report. For example, the number of entries in the online monthly report directory and the monthly newsletter directory does not match, the data does not match, and the place names do not match, etc., which still occurs in a few cataloging units. 2. Individual cataloging units have the phenomenon that the catalogue data of the earthquake monthly report is late for the Internet and the mailing list of the monthly report is delayed. 3. During the editing process of the National Earthquake Monthly Report, it was found that there were errors in the individual cataloging units at the time of the earthquake. This may be due to the fact that the station's phase is over time, and it is hoped that attention will be paid during the cataloging process. 4. Each cataloging unit should strengthen the study of the “Regional Network Monthly Report”. Make the work fine and avoid unnecessary mistakes. 5. The supervisors of each cataloging unit should strengthen their care and soft and hard investment in their cataloging group. It must be strictly managed and caring. Really help them solve practical problems, create a good working environment for the comrades engaged in cataloging, and stabilize this team. 6. Each cataloging unit should strengthen the letter and report work of the catalogue of the earthquake monthly report, correctly fill out the receiving unit, and recommend that all units use the express mail to report the monthly report catalogue. Please ask the cataloging unit to report the following materials: 1. The latest communication address and telephone number of the department, the person in charge. 2. Participate in the catalogue of the 2002 earthquake monthly report

A list of people working.
