Gulliver’s Travels

This summer, I read the British writer Jonathan; Swift's Gulliver's Travels, with a spicy irony and humor, bizarre imagination and exaggeration, depicting Gulliver, who loves sailing adventures, travels the world four times. Experienced thrilling and interesting adventures of all sizes.

The story of the strange little people in the small and small country and the adults is deeply attracted to me. However, the most impressive thing about me is that in 1710, Gulliver rafted in North America, and visited the Huiyin country on the desert island to meet the kindness. The wisdom of honesty and friendship. In the language of Hui Yinguo, there is no such thing as “lie” and “deception”, and people do not understand its meaning. They don't know what is "suspicion" and what is "distrust". Everything in their country is real and transparent.

Gulliver spent a good time in the country of Hui, and he was fully integrated into the society, so that he formed a strong contrast with the singularity of human beings, because they always viewed his honesty with suspicion. It made him feel lost and he was extremely disgusted with human beings.

I am very envious of the protagonist in the text who is fortunate enough to be able to go to Hui Yinguo. Hui Yinguo is the ideal place we pursue and yearn for. Here you don't have to worry about the true and false of others' speech. In the real world, there are too many we don't want to. What I see often happens: someone uses tricks to defraud others’ hard-earned money, someone sells children for profit, and some even abandon their own parents for money. It is no wonder that our teachers and elders have educated us from an early age to be vigilant and not to be deceived. This is difficult to unify with the kind of helping others and caring for others. When I met someone who had difficulties and wanted to lend a helping hand, I hesitated; when someone gave me a break, I didn't dare accept it. These have made my heart feel painful, contradictory, and at a loss. Is it not a kind of sorrow that hinders me from "loving" others and also missing the "love" of others?

I don't know the relationship between the two Americans in the eighteenth century, the fascinating and embarrassing relationship between the two parties. Of course, there is no way to understand the "principle" problem of Swift's pen and the top of the heel, the height of the heel. The beauty of the "high-heeled party" and "low-heeled party." I am wrong with Swift, I want to have a tolerant heart. Later, Swift gradually became understandable, giving me the feeling that he is very just.

He sarcastically expressed the characteristics of Britain at the time: "greed, party struggle, hypocrisy, unbelief, brutality, anger, madness, resentment, jealousy, lust, insidiousness, and ambition." He sarcastically described the grotesque phenomenon of human beings: The horse became the carrier of reason, and the human being turned into the inferior animal Yehu, which was dirty and filthy, and greedy. He talks about human nature, is willing to be enslaved by money, not extravagant waste or greed. After reading "Gulliver's Travels", we can't help but look at ourselves. We have these shadows of stubbornness and bad roots.

There is a saying that I think the commentary is very classic: to exaggerate the anger of the era, to rid the ills of the times by absurdity; behind hate and pessimism, it should be a bitter feeling of sorrow.

I did not expect that there is such a profound connotation in the vernacular travels that are as simple as running accounts.

I look forward to the day when our society is like Hui Yinguo. There are no doubts in the eyes of children. Education and reality are united. I am willing to make efforts for this. I also hope that everyone will join me in starting from myself and starting from now on, so that this society will be more sincere and less hypocritical.
