Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, is a famous lecturer and lawyer, but the thing I admire most about him is forgiveness. During the American Civil War, a young man named Roseville McIntyre was recruited into the cavalry battalion. In the battle, the company was scared and finally escaped and was sentenced to death. When McIntyre’s mother got the message, she sent a request to Lincoln to ask Lincoln to let her son. Lincoln considered it over and over again and finally decided to forgive the soldier. Later, McIntyre died in a fierce battle in Virginia. Lincoln's forgiveness gave a second chance for him to turn from a sly escape to a fearless warrior, fighting to the last moment of life.
