At noon on Sunday, I took my grandfather to the flower and bird market to play. As soon as I entered the door, a funny little thing caught my eye. Grandpa told me that it was a money turtle. When Grandpa saw that I liked it, I bought it for me.

I took the money turtle and watched as I walked. "Hey! Why is it called a money turtle?" I asked Grandpa, Grandpa said: "In ancient China, there was a coin called copper coins. Because the back of this turtle looks like copper coins, it is called the money turtle." This name is very interesting!

Back home, I kept it in a glass basin. At first, I didn't know what it liked to eat. I tried to eat it with green vegetables, but it didn't eat. I was very anxious. Grandpa told me that it likes to eat shrimp. So I went to the kitchen and took a small shrimp for it. I watched it beside it. It was particularly interesting. It touched the small shrimp with the head and then retracted it into the hard shell. It was repeated several times, and then the small shrimps were put down to the darker corners. Then I looked around and saw that there was no danger, and I ate it with relish.

Later, I heard that the money turtle is a amphibious animal like a frog. You can walk on land or swim in the water. Every Saturday, I put more water into the basin, and it was free to swim in the water. It was so beautiful!

Since the money turtle came to our home, I have added more content to my spare time, feeding it regularly every day, and letting it swim on Saturday. When I am tired of homework, go check it out and play with it. This cute money turtle has brought me endless fun!
