Tour Liu's former residence

Today, we are going to visit the former residence of the three brothers of Liu. Liu’s former residence is located at No. 49, Xiheng Street, Jiangyin City. It sits on the east side of the city, and the powder wall is covered with tiles. It is an ordinary Jiangnan residence in the late Qing Dynasty.

Walking into the gate, the sky on both sides of the courtyard is reflected in our eyes. This day, Liu Baoshan, the father of Liu’s three brothers, planted it himself. Although it was weather-beaten, it was still lush, and the small red beans like coral beads were dotted in the green leaves, adding a bit of purity and elegance to the place. From the branches of its thin and barely surviving, I seem to see the shadow of the three brothers of Liu.

After passing a threshold, I entered the first entrance hall. Hanging a plaque on the center wall, the book "Liu's Sanjie, Jiangyin's Light", a closer look, or the inscription of Bing Xin's grandmother! His Majesty is the huge head of Liu’s three brothers. They all smiled and watched people silently. This is the three brothers of Liu: Literati Liu Bannong, Erhu player Liu Tianhua, musician Liu Beimao. On the left and right sides of the wall, there is an overview of their life stories. When you look closely, people can't help but admire them. At first, I thought that Liu’s former residence was scum, and I was impressed by the outstanding achievements of the three brothers and the spirit of hard work. The residence is also much taller in my eyes.

On the right side of the main hall is the bedroom of Liu’s brother Liu Baoshan’s parents, an old-fashioned wooden bed, and several varnished wardrobes. Everything seems so simple. On the left is the Liujia private school, with a portrait of Confucius hanging on the front, and four long tables placed neatly against the wall, which is the children's desk. At that time, the three brothers and the surrounding children, under the guidance of his father, studied, studied, and attended classes, studying hard. Although they are in a poor family and their parents have died prematurely, they do not feel inferior and painful, but they are persistently pursuing and self-improving.

Through the middle of the courtyard, we walked into the secluded bluestone road and entered the second entrance of the former residence. In the middle is the Xixiatang, which is the name of the Liu brothers to commemorate their grandmother, Xia. The sides of Si Xia Tang are Liu Bannong and Liu Tianhua's bedroom. The bedroom is less than ten square meters. It is very crowded with a few simple pieces of furniture. Liu Tianhua’s bedroom is also equipped with erhu and pipa. He is a musical instrument that he plays from time to time. He is the erhu and pipa of the “unrecognized hall”, from the folk to the world, “Guangmingxing”, “Liangzhu” and so on. Famous songs spread from here to the north and south of the river.

Going forward along Qingshi Road, passing through the “old well”, “drying sauce table” and “kitchen room”, I came to the small garden of Liu’s three brothers who played and played in the bamboo garden. The few thin bamboos swayed gently in the spring breeze, which seemed small and simple, but this small garden left a memory of how many childhood memories of the Liu brothers. It is no wonder that Liu Bannong used his "Teach me how to not want her", the poem of the ancient singer, as the world tells the story of this deep hometown!

Going out of the former residence and looking back, the melody of "Guangmingxing" is ascending in my chest. The spirit of the Liu brothers who struggled to pursue the light once again deeply touched me.
