Lu Lian Ruo Park

Through the endless stream of vehicles, I came to Lu Lianruo Park.

The park was built by the wealthy businessman Lushi in the 19th century. After the purchase of the Macao government in 1973, it was opened to the public and became a good place for citizens to relax.

My father and I walked into the park gate and saw a palm tree bent over to welcome. The road paved with dense cobblestones led us to the screen arches at the top of the green glazed tile. Through the Jiangnan-style round moon gate, you can see the dignified Guanyin Bodhisattva. Drilled through the arch, the lush bamboo on both sides swayed in the wind and waving to us.

Take a short walk along the right path, and present a pool of spring water in front of us. A rockery rises in the pond like a mother holding a baby. Reflected in the water is the spring grass hall, the foreground is a few willows by the pool, the branches burst with a little sprout, the background is a light green forest, a good early spring landscape! Along the pond, every step of the way, a different painting appeared, let me experience the meaning of picturesque.

Along the pond, I came to the Life Pavilion, and I stopped in front of a tree stump. Probably because the trunk was ill, it was cut to the height of my waist. It is estimated that three people have opened their hands to hug the tree stump. It can be imagined that it used to be a towering old tree. However, the green buds have grown on the bare flat top of the tree stump, and it has begun to regenerate.

I look at the Spring Cottage, it stands by the water, the yellow powder wall, the half-covered blinds, the red fence, and the royal blue columns, plus the pink stone bridge, this typical European-style building Cleverly integrated in the landscape of Jiangnan, probably also symbolizes the combination of Chinese and Western Macao.

Say goodbye to Chuncaotang, we came to the Jiuqu Bridge. I saw that the pool under the bridge was clear, and several koi swayed around the tail to swim; several lotus leaves floated on the surface of the water, and several transparent drops of water on the lotus leaf rolled with the wind. At this time, there was a light rain, and the rain fell on the surface of the water. I stroked the railing of the Jiuqu Bridge. The cement had been peeled off due to the wind and rain. There was a patch of sand, and the rough surface made me feel old. Passing through the rockery and coming to the pool, I suddenly heard a few birds calling, following the sound, and faintly saw a black and white bird standing in the cypress leaves. Along the trail, through the dense fake Bodhi woods to the pavilion called the floating green place, you can see some Cantonese opera lovers here, sitting around and singing together. Unconsciously we returned to the park's exit.

I have been to Lu Lian Ruo Park many times and every time there will be new discoveries and joys.

Lu Lian Ruo Park, you are the pride of our Macao people. You are the precious legacy left by our predecessors. We must cherish you and protect you so that you can be a good place for our Macao people to rest for generations.
