Cherish life

---Reading how "steel is made"

This summer, I read a very meaningful book, which is Ostrovsky's "How Steel is Made". What impressed me the most in the book is the author's statement about the highest value of life.

"The most precious thing for human beings is life. Life is only once for everyone." This powerful tone fully illustrates the preciousness of life. "Whenever you recall the past, you can not regret for the vain, not shame because of inaction." This further illustrates the shortness and value of precious life. The cherished and passionate spirit of the protagonist Paul Kochakin is also reflected in many famous scientists.

The world's leading biologist Darwin, after several years of maritime research activities, his body became very weak. However, he still used his only time to complete the biological masterpiece "Evolution", leaving valuable spiritual wealth to future generations. The world-famous female scientist, who has won the Nobel Prize twice, died in her husband’s accident and her lung disease became more serious. She still insisted on chemical research and finally succeeded again. The spirit of bravely overcoming difficulties is also a manifestation of cherishing life. It can be seen that cherishing life is the spirit necessary for every successful person.

In addition, there are many specific examples of cherishing life around us. Everyone knows about Zhang Haidi’s older sister! She lost her consciousness of the lower body from the chest since she was young, but in this case, she still defeated the disease with a strong will, and obtained a doctorate that is difficult for a healthy person to obtain. Her spiritual pillar is Paul Kochakin's great spirit of cherishing life. In addition, the country's top ten young pioneers, a little brother who is only one year older than us, still have a strong will to continue to learn, and inject drugs every day. When he was admitted to the hospital, he also insisted on learning cultural knowledge. In the end, he won the first place in the school. From this we can see that in our current study and life, the lofty spirit of cherishing and loving life is still very important.

In our current study and life, although we can't make some big things to those people, it is still very important to cherish life. We should do our best to do something for the society with a limited life and for those who need our help. Like helping to care for the elderly, helping the disabled to clean the room and seeing and comforting the patients in the hospice hospital, these are the manifestations of our cherished life now.

Dear students, let us use the example of Paul Kochakin in the book to learn the spirit of cherishing life. Only in this way, in the near future, when we recall the past, we can truly repent without squandering our lives and not be ashamed of being inactive. So let us cherish life and use our little life to shape a great life!
