Candle blossoming on water

Today, in the class, the teacher walked into the classroom with a smile. "Today, the teacher and the classmates made a small experiment - the candle blossomed on the water." The students listened and happily applauded.

The experiment started, the teacher took a lot of water in two transparent plastic cups, and took out colorful candles and lighters. When everything is ready, the teacher will light a white candle. Looking at the jumping yellow flame, I thought; "Can the candle really bloom on the water? What is the flower, beautiful?" The candle on the teacher's hand melted, and the candle dripped on the water in the cup. The teacher said; "Look at the classmates." Everyone looked around, wow! The flower floating on the water is so beautiful, like a white snow!

Then, the teacher asked us to do the experiment ourselves. I took a yellow candle and ignited it. The wax oil splashed on the water and condensed into a yellow four-petal flower. I am happy to clap my hands while jumping. The students experimented one after another, and the students were excited and puzzled by the different shapes and colorful flowers on the water.

Why does the wax dripping on the surface of the water turn into a flower? The teacher told us; "The original wax is a kind of oil that is insoluble in water, and the water is cold. When the wax melts with wax, it will condense into a wax block when it hits the water. When a small amount of wax oil is from a height When dropped into water, it will condense and turn into a flower shape. Because the height of the wax is different, the impulse is different, so the wax flowers are different."

This is really a wax flower in the water, so many studies. We really have to study hard and read more books!
