As a small volunteer, I personally cooked three dishes and dumplings, prepared to be sent to a lonely old man's home, and went to the old family to have a group dinner with my parents.

The old man is called Chen Po, who is 94 years old this year and lives in an old two-storey building not far from my home. We carefully walked up the black and narrow wooden stairs, and in front of us was a dilapidated, narrow old house. Although the house is very simple, but it is neat, a few old and dilapidated furniture is said to be the dowry of Chen's mother-in-law, and Chen's mother-in-law looks kind and harmonious. As soon as we arrived at her house, she immediately greeted us with enthusiasm. When she knew that we were going to have a group dinner with her, Chen’s mother’s face and old face showed a happy smile. We sat together and just opened the food. I quickly put every dish in the bowl of Chen’s mother and let her taste the craft. Chen's mother-in-law constantly praises that the fried vegetables are not only delicious, but also have high nutritional value, which is very suitable for her elderly people to eat. When we were eating, we also learned about Chen’s past. It turns out that she has 11 brothers and sisters. She is the youngest. Her husband died a year after she got married. She relied on helping others to make clothes for a living and lived a poor life. However, Chen’s mother’s body was good and her eyes were clear. The mind is also clear. She said that she was a very active person when she was young. She has been to many places. There are four famous mountains, even Hong Kong has been there, but now people are old, slow, and no one around. She smiled and said: "If someone can accompany me, I still want to go out and walk." I immediately said: "Chen Po, I will accompany you around when I have a holiday." The people present laughed.

This small volunteer activity made me feel very deep. Chen's mother-in-law is a lonely old man. After her husband died, she became self-reliant and rarely dressed in plain clothes. Chen’s mother-in-law is still a very frugal person. When we eat, she repeatedly refuses to waste food and wants to eat all the things she brings. I must learn the spirit of diligence, self-reliance and self-reliance of Chen's mother-in-law. In fact, there are so many people in our lives who need our help. If each of us can reach out, the world will become even better.
