Leaf ant

The leaf ant is a light red ant with a body length of 5 cm. Living in the fringe of tropical forests in Southeast Asia and Australia. Unlike many kinds of ants, the stalked ants do not build nests on the ground. Instead, they use the leaves hanging from the trees to weave them. Each is football-sized and amazing. The "architect" who sews and builds this strange nest is the famous sewed leaf ant.

Before the nesting ants begin to build a nest, they first climb a broad-leaved tree, carefully select two large and strong large leaves in the branches, and then some of the leaf-leaf ants are lined up on the edge of the blade, on the edge of the leaf. Bite out a row of neat holes. After the holes are bitten, they climb on the leaf edge and work together to use the hind foot to climb the blade where they are, and then use the forefoot to pull the other leaf hard, so that the leaf edges of the two leaves are joined together. When everything is ready for work, other stalked ants will take out a larvae that will spin from the original ant nest, squeeze them out to make them stick, and then use them as a needle shuttle. The small holes in the two leaf edges shuttle back and forth, so that the silk thread spouted by the larvae "sews" the leaves together. The nest stitched by the leaf ants is not only well-stitched, but also very strong.
