"The daughter of the sea" after reading (1)

The story of "The Daughter of the Sea" is comparable. A little girl, a little mermaid, exchanged her feet with her voice and saw the prince. Love is just selfless giving? I am confused. The little mermaid came to the prince's side, but witnessed the wedding of the prince and another woman. The prince she has always loved is someone else's.
