The purpose is to allow more foreign workers to join the trade unions, thus safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests.

Chairman Wu Bingyuan of Wuxi Municipal Federation of Trade Unions said: At the beginning of this year, in order to mobilize the vast number of foreign workers to join the trade unions, the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions issued two open letters to the city's foreign personnel and grassroots trade unions. A group of well-known entrepreneurs also issued a proposal, calling on the whole society to care. Foreign personnel are welcome to join the trade unions.

In order to find out the basic situation of migrant workers in the city and understand what they think and think, in April this year, the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions and the Department of Statistics and City Regulations spent a month sampling and surveying 205 units and XX foreigners.

On the basis of investigation and research, Wuxi City’s trade unions at all levels will “organize the entry of migrant workers into the city” as the “No. 1 Project” for this year’s trade union work. Up to now, there have been 508,733 labor unions in Wuxi City, and more than 120,000 people have joined the trade union this year.

The trade union is the home of local workers and the home of foreign workers. The trade unions at all levels in Wuxi implement the same “eight equal treatments” as local employees, that is, receiving letters and visits, economic assistance, reemployment training, assisting and re-employment, absorbing membership, signing labor contracts, collective contracts, and participating in democratic management of enterprises. And provide legal assistance and other eight aspects. At the end of last year, the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, together with the labor security department, carried out special inspections on wages and salaries for migrant workers, and recovered more than 24 million yuan of wages for more than 50,000 foreign workers, which was well received by foreign workers.
