During the summer vacation, I visited the "Longmen Grottoes" in Luoyang, a Buddhist holy place in China.

When I bought a ticket to pass the ticket office, I realized why the cave was called "Longmen Grottoes" because the ticket office was at the "Longmen".

Entering the scenic area, there are mountains on both sides, with a large river in between. It is called Yihe. I heard that the road for tourists has now expanded a lot, but watching the river is still so spacious, it is conceivable that it is really a "big river." Going inside again is what we call "the grotto." A statue of the Buddha is in front of me. The most interesting thing is that the hand of a Buddha statue is so solemn and different from other Buddha statues, but it is like the "scissor hand" we now call it. The tour guide said that this was not later remodeled, but the original building was like this. It is also said that the Buddha has the ability to predict, and thousands of years ago, he already knew the most popular gestures. Oh, of course, this is just a rumor. There is also a "most beautiful audiovisual", although it is only a few centimeters on the wall, but her beauty has attracted many tourists. In our impression, Guanyin is a sitting on the throne of the lotus, holding a bottle with a willow branch in his hand, and holding the image of a solemn goddess with dust in one hand, and this statue, Guanyin stood. Get up, holding the bottle in one hand and rubbing the dust out of your arm in one hand. She discarded the solemn expression of her in order to highlight her graceful figure, as if she was about to start dancing. It was lifelike and vivid, and I couldn’t help but praise the skillful craftsmanship of ancient Chinese craftsmen, and the motherland has such a long history. Proud of a splendid, beautiful culture.

Going forward, some unharmonious things began to appear in front of you. I noticed that there were no small Buddha statues in many small caves, and there were many small Buddha statues missing. The statue of the statue of the great Buddha, although sitting still on the steep mountain, is still exceptionally solemn, but it is no longer as perfect as it was when it was built. Some ears are gone, some fingers are gone, and some are there. The face is covered with cannon dust and rain, which looks even more vicissitudes. These beautiful defects, some of which originated from the erosion of long-lasting wind and rain, and most of them are due to the crimes committed by the imperialist powers when they invaded our country. Everything here is telling us the history of humiliation. Thinking of this, my mood is inevitably heavy. Longmen Grottoes is one of the treasure trove of Chinese stone carving art. It was selected as a World Cultural Heritage in 2000. We should protect them, protect our treasures, and protect our long, splendid and beautiful culture!
