In the past three years, the city has completed a total investment of 7.58 billion yuan in highway construction, 3353.7 kilometers of newly-built highways, 1598.8 kilometers of large and medium-sized repairs, and 243 bridges. In particular, the construction of key highways in urban construction has achieved major breakthroughs, and 20 key urban construction projects have been completed, including Shenfu Avenue and Shenben Industrial Avenue, which realize the important signs of Shenfu and Shenben; and realize the positive interaction between coastal and hinterland. In the past three years, the road network has been completed to improve the 1598.8 kilometers of large and medium-sized repairs, and the investment of 1.35 billion yuan has been completed. Among the fifteen sub-provincial cities in the country, the total mileage and road network density of the city's road network have entered the ranks of the “first group”. In particular, the intrinsic quality and appearance of ordinary highway projects in our city have been significantly improved, reaching the leading level in the province.

In the past three years, a total of 1561.2 kilometers of rural roads have been built, and an investment of 580 million yuan has been completed. The task of “building 500 kilometers of rural roads” by the municipal government has been exceeded. The depth and breadth of the rural road network have been expanded, and the traffic environment in rural areas has been optimized. It has provided strong support for the construction of a new socialist countryside. Up to now, the mileage of rural roads in our city has reached 5462 kilometers, reaching 1514 administrative villages and 1285 natural villages in the city. The proportion of natural villages in the city has reached 56.2%.

In the past three years, a total of 195 road sickness bridges have been reconstructed, and 14 civilized model roads have been created for a total of 544 kilometers. In particular, through the Olympic security and National Day security activities, the whole system of cadres and workers organized day and night guards and inspections of key bridges and ferries in the city. A total of 33 safety hazards were managed to ensure the safety of roads in our city.

In the past three years, the road greening has been completed for 1,518 kilometers. On the ordinary roads, high-standard landscape greening represented by the Shenhuan line was implemented. The greening of scenic spots was implemented at the junctions with the foreign city, the junction of the county, and the triangles on both sides of the road. In the past three years, a total of 21.78 million yuan of road compensation was collected, and 23042 square meters/152 illegal buildings were demolished. The case detection rate and settlement rate of road production cases all reached over 98%, and the road production recovery rate reached 100%.
Focusing on improving the quality of engineering construction, the renovation and transformation of road construction machinery and equipment has obvious effects.
In the past three years, the city has invested a total of 73.95 million yuan to purchase various types of machinery and equipment, especially the plant mixing heat regeneration, fiber gravel seal, rubber asphalt, bridge comprehensive testing and other equipment for the construction of ecological and environmentally friendly cities. It has played an important role in extending the service life of the city, improving the capacity and saving construction funds.
Focusing on improving the independent innovation capability of science and technology, highway technology has achieved remarkable results.
In the past three years, a total of 30 scientific and technological progress projects have been implemented, and the use of grassroots cold regeneration, gravel seal, sbs modified asphalt, sbr modified asphalt, fiber gravel seal, plant heat regeneration, sulfur asphalt and other technologies has been promoted. Rubber asphalt concrete, semi-flexible pavement base layer and typical pavement structure accelerated loading test and other aspects have made bold attempts, and achieved remarkable results, reaching the provincial road science and technology leading level.

Since 1994, the Highway Office has helped Yemaotai Town of Faku County and Yaogaotaizi Village of Gaotaizi Township of Xinmin City.
