The topic of my speech is: Youth shines at the end of life.
My name is aaa, I am a year old. I am the curator of the county funeral home and the secretary of the party branch.
In the spring of 1984, with a bit of doubt and confusion, I came to the funeral home from the county civil affairs bureau. At that time, I was complained by my relatives and friends, and my colleagues were puzzled. After working for several months, I did not dare to tell the truth to my wife who worked in Huai'an. Until one day, my wife went to the Civil Affairs Bureau to find me, only to know that I had transferred to the funeral home. Unexpectedly, she blamed me for not working in this unit, but blaming me for not having such a fear of losing face, obeying organizational distribution, and working hard. After knowing my thoughts in the organization, I also sent people to talk to me many times. With the trust of the organization, I have strengthened my confidence in the funeral work. I made up my mind to fight against secular prejudice and use my own practical actions to realize the solemn oath of the party when I joined the party.
Twenty-one years are both short and long. I spend every day listening to sorrow and crying, and every day I am full of the ups and downs of life, joys and sorrows.
I remember that in dealing with a catastrophic traffic accident involving six people, facing the body with broken limbs and bloody smell, I worked with the staff to undress, clean, suture, and plasticize the body. The smell of nausea, the scene of horror and blood, the clothes are covered with blood and sweat. From late night to dawn, everyone was too tired to stand up. When the relatives of the victims saw the loved ones who had been comforted by the plastic surgery, they expressed gratitude to us with grief, and each of us had a happy smile on our faces.
Funeral work is a special job. I am often discriminated against by some people. Sometimes I feel that the emotions of individual mourners cannot be controlled and pushed and torn. But I always do not fight back, I don’t pay back my mouth, and do a good job of patient and meticulous interpretation. The vocation of heaven has established a lofty image of funeral workers for the society.
Twenty-one years of ups and downs, more than 7,000 days and nights, have given me a new understanding of funeral work. I fell in love with this special post. I want to make my life shine here.
A unit is like a home, and a good “family” is crucial to the development of this “home”. In my spare time, what I think most is how to live up to the organization and trust this "home." As the curator and branch secretary, I know that my words and deeds will have an important impact on the unit and the employees. I can lead by example and start from me. The cremator is broken, and it is repaired by yourself, mechanical failure, and it is done by yourself. In this way, the annual maintenance cost is more than 20,000 yuan. In the overtime service, neither the funeral service fee nor the overtime pay for the collective penny is used to serve the mourners wholeheartedly. Really strive for service in the work, seek quality in service, and strive for survival and development in efficiency.
In the past 21 years, we have always adhered to the principle of "consolidation, improvement, improvement, and development", using mourners as God, seeking services for efficiency, seeking survival with efficiency, and seeking development with reality, so that the funeral parlour is subsidized by the state from the past to the poor. Now it has a new type of fixed assets, a profit of more than 100,000 yuan per year, and a new type of institution with a new look. In 2000, it was awarded the “Class III Funeral Home” by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. I have also won the honorary title of "Outstanding Communist Party Member" in the county.
The practice of working in the past 21 years has made me realize that the size of a person's contribution to society is not in his professionalism, but in whether he has a heart that serves the people. Only by linking the profession he is engaged in with the fundamental interests of the broadest masses of the people can you grow up in laughter and tears, mature in success and failure, lofty and ordinary; only the lofty spiritual pursuits are based on ordinary jobs.
