The traces of happiness are everywhere
The two men, who are very ill, live in the same ward of the hospital. One of the men can sit in the bed for an hour every afternoon to help him drain the water from the lungs. His bed rested on the only window in the ward, while the other man could only lie flat on the bed. These two people chat every day, and a chat is a few hours.
They talk about their wives, family, family, work and military service, and where they used to go on vacation. Every afternoon, when the window man can sit up, he will describe the scenery outside the window he sees to his patients, in order to kill the hour. The man on the other bed began to live for that hour. During that hour, all the activities and colors of the outside world made his world open and lively.
From that window you can overlook a park with a beautiful pool of water. Ducks and swans play in the water, and children play with boat models. Young couple holding hands and walking among the flowers in the color class. The ancient trees add luster to the landscape and may also look out over the city on the far horizon. When the man at the window paints these beautiful and elegant views, the man on the other side of the room will close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.
On a sunny afternoon, the man at the window described a parade through the window. Although the other man could not hear the band's performance, the gentleman used vivid language to describe the scene so that he could see it clearly with only the heart.
Time went by and day by day. One morning, the nurse raised the bath water to the ward, and found that the man by the window had passed away. He died peacefully in his sleep. The nurse was very upset, and she asked the hospital staff to take his body away.
After a while, another man asked if he could change to the window. The nurse was happy to help him change the bed. After setting him up, the nurse left and left him alone in the ward. He propped himself up slowly and painfully with his elbows, hoping to look outside and slowly turn outside the window, seeing a bare wall.
The man asked the nurse what his deceased patient could paint such a beautiful view through the window. The nurse replied that the man was blind and could not see the wall. She said: "Maybe he just wants to encourage you to live."
