Majestic Maiden Bridge

On the Xiqiao River in Xiaguan, Dali, there is a majestic bridge, formerly known as Xiaguan New Bridge, now called the Meideng Bridge. It was built on July 8, 2003 and put into use in 2004.

The Maiden Bridge is very majestic. The bridge is 140 meters long, 36 meters wide, two-way six lanes, two non-motorized lanes, and two sidewalks. There are no piers under the Meideng Bridge. There is only one arched bridge hole. There are two small bridge holes on the left and right sides of the bridge hole, which straddle the Xiqiao River. Usually, the river flows through the bridge hole. When the water is flooded, the river can flow through the six small bridges, which reduces the impact of the water on the bridge and makes the bridge not easily destroyed by the water.
