Nearly 90% of urban and rural residents in Sichuan are satisfied with their current life.


At the beginning of the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”, in order to better interpret the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” reviewed and approved by the Sichuan Provincial People’s Congress, to understand the people’s hearts and reflect public opinion, the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Statistics’ Social Situation and Public Opinion Survey Center has newly established The computer-assisted telephone access rapid investigation system was organized in March 2006 in Sichuan Province to conduct a large-scale public welfare social survey of “the first year of listening to the public opinion”.

The survey was conducted by random sampling and telephone interview. The interviewees covered 2,000 people aged 18-69 in 9 cities and counties including Chengdu, Mianyang, Neijiang, Leshan, Dazhou, Suizhong, Dujiangyan, Renshou and Hejiang. Among the urban and rural residents of all walks of life, males accounted for 47.3%, females accounted for 52.7%; national minimums accounted for 16.5%, middle schools accounted for 26.9%, high schools accounted for 31.3%, universities accounted for 25.3%; farmers farmers Accounted for 19.1%, working and peasant farmers accounted for 11.8%, workers, staff and service personnel accounted for 28.8%, individual industry and commerce and private owners accounted for 17.5%, government officials and cultural and educational personnel accounted for 4.2%, unemployed personnel accounted for 0.5%, retirees Students and other students accounted for 18.1%. The survey results show that nearly 90% of urban and rural residents in Sichuan are satisfied or basically satisfied with the current life; they are generally concerned about the series of work done by the provincial party committee and the provincial government to speed up the economic development of the province and improve people's lives, especially The work of ensuring smooth traffic and improving the urban environment is of high concern; the most concerned issues in all aspects of society are the three major issues of medical care, education and social security.

Urban and rural residents’ overall satisfaction with current life is 87.4%

In 2005, Sichuan’s national economy continued to develop rapidly, social undertakings progressed in an all-round way, and building a harmonious society took new steps. The province's total production value reached 738.51 billion yuan, an increase of 12.6% over the previous year; the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 8386 yuan, an increase of 8.8%; the per capita net income of farmers was 2802.8 yuan, an increase of 8.6%. Economic development and social progress have brought more benefits to the urban and rural residents, and have enhanced people's satisfaction and happiness in life.

The survey showed that the respondents were satisfied with the overall living conditions of 29.4%, 58.0% were satisfied with the basic satisfaction, 12.6% were dissatisfied, and the overall satisfaction was 87.4%. Among them: the overall satisfaction of rural residents is 90.0%, 3.9 percentage points higher than the overall satisfaction of urban residents 86.1%; and the overall satisfaction of individual industrial and commercial and private owners and farmers is the highest, reaching 91.8% and 91.7 respectively. %, 88.9% of workers, staff and service personnel, and 86.4% of migrant workers. Respondents believe that 44.6% of their current life is happy, 48.8% of basic happiness, 6.6% of unhappy, and 93.4% of overall happiness. Among them: the overall happiness of rural residents is 94.2%, 1.1 percentage points higher than the overall happiness of urban residents by 93.1%; the overall happiness of workers, staff and service personnel is the highest, reaching 96.4%, 95.5% of working and peasant farmers, individual industry and commerce The number of private owners was 95.1%, and that of farmers was 88.9%. It can be seen that reform, opening up, economic development and social progress have most benefited the Sichuan people, and the general public has a positive attitude towards the current life. Specifically reflected in the following aspects:

First, the income level of residents has increased significantly. Among the respondents of urban and rural residents in this survey, the average monthly income level is below 999 yuan, accounting for 44.9%, 1000-1999 yuan accounting for 31.5%, 2000-4999 yuan accounting for 11.1%, and 5,000 yuan or more accounting for 1.7%. , no income accounted for 10.8%. Compared with the previous year, it is considered that the household income in 2005 accounted for 30.9%, the change was not significant, accounting for 48.6%, and the decrease was 20.5%, and the increase in income was 10.4% higher than the decrease; Urban residents believe that household income increased by 26.5% in 2005, 4.6 percentage points higher than the proportion considered to be reduced. Rural residents believe that household income increased by 39.7% in 2005, which is 22.2 higher than the proportion considered to be reduced. The percentage points indicate that rural residents received more obvious benefits in 2005.

Second, personal health is generally good. In the past 2005, respondents were satisfied with their physical health status of 53.5%, 37.4% were satisfied with basic satisfaction, 9.1% were unsatisfied, and the overall satisfaction of health status was 90.9%. Among them, the overall satisfaction of urban residents on health status is 90.3%, the overall satisfaction of rural residents on health status is 92.2%, 1.9 percentage points higher than urban residents, the difference is not large, indicating that most urban and rural areas in 2005 Residents are not plagued by major diseases.

The third is the harmony of family life. According to the current living conditions, 74.8% of the respondents in this survey considered their family to be harmonious, 22.1% of the respondents considered it to be basically harmonious, and only 3.1% of their family disharmony, family life The overall level of harmony reached 96.9%. Among them, the overall harmony of urban residents' family life is 96.2%, and the overall harmony of rural households' life is 98.3%, which is 2.1 percentage points higher than urban residents. The degree of harmony in most family life reflects the progress made in building social harmony in Sichuan.

Fourth, most of the social interpersonal relationships are friendly. In addition to family relationships, social relationships include family and friends, neighborhood and colleagues. Among the respondents in this survey, 62.9% were satisfied with their interpersonal relationships, 35.2% were generally satisfied, 1.9% were dissatisfied, and the overall satisfaction was 98.1%. Among them, urban residents' overall satisfaction with their interpersonal relationships is 98.5%, which is 1.2 percentage points higher than that of rural residents' 97.2%, indicating that most urban residents and rural residents currently live in a friendly interpersonal environment. .

Fifth, the amateur spiritual and cultural life is more substantial. In this survey, 42.3% of respondents were satisfied with their amateur living conditions, 46.7% were generally satisfied, 11.0% were dissatisfied, and 89.0% were satisfied with their spare time. Among them, the overall satisfaction of urban residents in their spare time is 88.9%, and that of rural residents is 89.2%, which is almost the same. However, among urban respondents, 74.6% read and read newspapers in their spare time, while only 50.0% of rural respondents, urban residents are more concerned about the spiritual and cultural content of their spare time.

From the overall evaluation, urban and rural residents feel that the standard of living in 2005 has improved compared with the previous year, but the pressure in life is still not small. In this survey, 34.9% of the respondents thought that their living standards in 2005 were generally higher than that of the previous year, which was 19.3 percentage points higher than the 15.6% reduction. The rest thought that the overall living level was similar to that of the previous year. Accounted for 49.5%. Among them, urban residents believe that the overall improvement in living standards in 2005 accounted for 30.4%, which is 12.1 percentage points higher than the proportion of 18.3% that is considered to be reduced; rural residents believe that the overall improvement in living standards in 2005 accounted for 43.9%. The reduced proportion of 10.3% is 33.6 percentage points higher, and the overall improvement of the living standards of rural residents is more obvious.

However, in the face of fierce competition in the market economy, both urban and rural residents clearly feel the existence of life pressure. The stress index of respondents' life stress reflected in this survey is 55.8, of which the urban residents' life stress index is 56.5, which is two points higher than the rural residents' life stress index of 54.5, indicating that the living pressure of urban residents is slightly larger. According to the social stratum: the life pressure index of urban individual industrial and commercial enterprises and private owners is 61.5, the urban workers, staff and service personnel is 59.2, the rural farmers are 56.9, and the rural migrant workers are 63.7. The working and working farmers have the greatest pressure on life.

70.1% of the people are full of confidence in Sichuan's development this year

In recent years, with the development of the government's "Sunshine Government Affairs", it has formed a benign interaction with the people's concern for the degree of national affairs. More and more urban and rural residents are concerned about national events, and the government and social issues concerned are becoming more and more extensive. According to the survey, 65.6% of the respondents were concerned about the major events between the country and Sichuan. They did not know whether they were concerned or not concerned with 21.8%, and clearly stated that they did not care only 12.6%. The current concerns of urban and rural residents in Sichuan are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

First, from the perspective of government affairs, in the series of work done by the provincial party committee and the provincial government to speed up the development of the province's economic construction and improve people's lives, the questions that respondents pay attention to are ranked according to the proportion from high to low. In order, the protection of “communication is the first” accounted for 31.9%, the improvement of “urban environment” was 31.0%, the third place of “ecological environmental protection” accounted for 25.8%, and the “social security” accounted for 24.9%. Resolving “employment and reemployment” accounted for 17.9%, “urban housing” accounted for 17.9%, “public service facilities” accounted for 15.7%, and “drinking water” accounted for 13.6%. Among them, the focus of government affairs of all social strata has its own focus: the top three government affairs and interests of urban individual industry and commerce and private owners are 59.1% in terms of “urban environment” and 43.2% in “communication”. Second, from a social perspective, the surveyed respondents' most concerned social hotspots and difficult issues are ranked in order of high to low. The difficult "education" problem is 39.3%, the social "security" ranks third in 34.0%, the "corruption" problem is 30.1%, the "ecological environment" problem is 20.1%, and the "public safety" problem is 17.8%. The problem of "social justice" accounted for 17.3%, and the problem of "social integrity" accounted for 13.2%. Third, from the perspective of their own, for the current problems of individuals and families, according to the survey, the proportion of respondents who believe that they need to solve the most need to be ranked from high to low, in turn: “medical” issues accounted for 36.2%, “income” The problem accounted for 35.4%, the "child education" problem accounted for 32.1%, the "ageing" problem accounted for 26.7%, the "employment" problem accounted for 24.8%, the "housing" problem accounted for 18.1%, and the "personal safety" problem accounted for 16.1%. While the majority of the people in Sichuan are generally concerned about the various problems mentioned above, they are also full of hope for the life in the new year and full of confidence in the further development of Sichuan this year. According to the survey, among the respondents' biggest expectations for life in the New Year, “physical health” ranked first with 34.2%, “income increase” ranked third with 34.2%, and “family happiness” ranked third. The position accounted for 23.2%, and the “Residential Living” was the fourth place with 10.2%. Among them, urban individual industrial and commercial and private owners most expect “increased income” and “health”, accounting for 34.4% and 22.8% respectively; urban workers, staff and service personnel with the same expectations account for 37.7% and 33.8% respectively; The rural farmers are most expecting “increased income” and “family happiness”, accounting for 41.7% and 27.8% respectively; rural migrant workers are most expecting “family happiness” and “physical health”, accounting for 45.5% and 31.8% respectively. . For the development of Sichuan this year, 70.1% of the respondents expressed confidence that 22.6% of them were unclear at the moment, and only 7.3% of respondents felt that they did not have confidence. Among them, the confident individual industrial and commercial enterprises and private owners, workers, staff and service personnel, rural farmers and farmers, and workers and peasants, accounted for 57.4%, 70.5%, 80.6% and 68.2% respectively, especially the rural farmers have the strongest confidence. . It can be seen that the task of building a new socialist countryside proposed by the 11th Five-Year Plan has begun to penetrate the hearts of the vast majority of rural residents.
