I once told the management of New Oriental a story about a Zen story. On the three days, the grass of the silkworm garden was yellow and a large piece. The little monk said: "Spray the seeds quickly, it's so ugly." The master said: "When the weather is cold, at any time." During the Mid-Autumn Festival, the master bought a bag of grass seeds and called the little monk to sow. The autumn wind rises, and the grass seeds are scattered. The young monk said: "It's not good, so many kinds of people are blown away." The old monk said: "It doesn't matter, most of the flying is empty, and it can't be budded. It's free." Seeds are finished, then Just a few birds flying. "It’s terrible, the seeds are eaten by the birds," said the little monk. The master said: "It doesn't matter, there are many seeds, and you can't finish it. Feel free." In the middle of the night, a little monk rushed into the Zen room in the morning: "Master, this is really over, a lot of grass seeds have been washed away by the rain." "Where to go?" It sprouted there." The master said: "Follow the edge." A week passed, the bare ground actually grew a lot of green grass seedlings, and some corners that were not sowed also showed greenery. The little monk happily clap his hands. The master nodded and said: "With the joy."
The "following" here is not the "following" of "following", but the meaning of letting go. If you don't complain, don't overdo it, don't force it. "Following" is not a "following" of "following", but grasping the opportunity, not pessimistic, not rigid, not flustered, not forgetting the shape. The "five followers" summed up to cherish everything and live your life easily and casually. This is the correct attitude towards success and failure. When the grass seeds are washed away by the rain, they will germinate elsewhere. There are four such sentences in English, which is actually my favorite four sentences.
The first sentence is Love as if you've never been disappointed by love. When you love, you must be disappointed as never because of love. People are easily disappointed by love. You love others, and when your loved one hurts you, it is hard to love you for the second time. I have seen a saying that a woman’s first love loss will be painful for six months, and the second loss of love will be painful for three months. The third time she will not suffer any more, because she has long since she abandoned her. Abandon the man. Although this approach seems to make life easier, it has also become cynical. What really matters is that when you are repeatedly abandoned, when you are hurt because of your love, you can still love in good faith. When others abandon you, you can still respect others, that is, your love. Without being affected by the external environment, then you will live a sincere and chic.
The second sentence is Work as if you don't need any money. When you work, it's like you don't need money. When you work, it is because the work itself brings you fun. If you work only for money, the fun of work will disappear. Working with one heart, in the end you will be rewarded. This reward is not only for wealth, but also for dignity, friendship, and status. These returns add up far more than the return you simply pay for. But many people in the world can't understand this truth. I hope that employees in New Oriental can understand.
The last two sentences are Dance as if nobody is watching you. Sing as if nobody is listening to you. When dancing, just like no one is watching you, when you sing, just like no one is listening to you. Not only when you dance and sing, but in life, you find that many things you do are judged by others. When you want to be praised by others, you will be very cautious and will deliberately expose your hypocritical side. When you expose your hypocritical side, others will be more demeaning. When you are free to do whatever you want to respect the freedom and dignity of others, others will be more respectful to you. So you have to reach the realm of these two sentences. It is not easy to dance and dance with sex. Chinese ethnic minority compatriots danced and sang songs very beautifully, because they are playing their own nature, they are expressing their joy and pain. But we sing, every sing, are worried about what others think, and hope to get praise from others, and this just leads to our life becoming paralyzed and detained.
