The book is divided into three parts: 1. Ocean and human: It mainly writes about the relationship between the ocean and human beings, and records the stories of countries looking for the South and North Pole. 2. The Ocean and the Chinese Nation: It tells the story of China’s disastrous defeat of many countries due to its lack of attention to coastal defense. It also lists many Chinese maritime heroes. 3. Ocean and future: It mainly talks about the achievements of several countries in developing coastal defense.

After reading it, I fell into meditation. Why is the ocean closely related to human beings since ancient times?

The ocean is both a symbol of the earth, a cradle of life, and a treasure house of blue.

The earth is a pale blue water polo, and the land is just one of the vast oceans. In this sense, it seems more appropriate to call the earth a polo or a ball of the ocean. The Earth's surface area is 510 million square kilometers, of which the ocean area is 367 million square kilometers, accounting for 70.8% of the total surface area of ​​the Earth; and the land area is 149 million square kilometers, only the entire Earth surface area of ​​29.2%.

The ocean provides conditions for the birth, evolution and reproduction of life. According to paleontological research, organisms on Earth have been born in the ocean at least 3 billion years ago, starting with prokaryotes and developing into eukaryotes. It was not until 400 million years ago that plants and animals migrated to land, and the evolution of land-based animals and plants began. In the evolution of terrestrial animals, the emergence of humans was about 3 million years ago. Tracing back to the source, the sea is also the home of human ancestors. To date, 80% of the animals on Earth still live in the ocean.

The ocean is the hometown of wind and rain. It plays an important role in controlling and regulating the global climate. The ocean is the protection of resources. It provides people with abundant food and endless resources. The ocean is the main channel of transportation. It is human. Engaged in maritime traffic, providing an economical and convenient transportation route; the ocean is the base of modern high-tech research and development, which provides space for people to explore the mysteries of nature and develop high-tech industries.

The ocean has a tremendous impact on the natural world and on the progress of the human civilization. The historical process of human social development has always been closely related to the ocean. No one does not believe that human civilization and progress directly benefit from the ocean. Today, the ocean as a special space on the earth, whether it is its material resource value or political and economic value, far exceeds people's original understanding. People's demand for the ocean is no longer just the benefit of the fishermen. The rapid development of science and technology has enabled human beings to enter the ocean with a marching attitude.

However, so far, only about 5% of the oceans that humans have explored, and about 95% of the oceans are unknown. These unknown areas must inspire us to move on and explore this unknown blue treasure trove.

The ocean provides a very rich and precious resource for the survival of mankind. As long as we can reasonably develop and utilize this treasure house, it will be used endlessly for human beings, and it will be inexhaustible.
