Chinese girl who said no to the US presidential award

Today, I read an article called "I Only Have One China". The story is about a girl named Wang Yuan who left the country to study abroad. In December last year, she was admitted to Harvard University. At the beginning of February this year, Wang Yuan received a letter from the White House. She was named a candidate for the Presidential Scholar Award and hoped that she would return it on time. Wang Yuan was very excited after seeing it, but when she read the application carefully and found that the winner must be a US citizen, she gave up the application on the spot. The days slipped through, and I saw that there was only one day left before the deadline. Wang Yuan’s parents were very anxious. Wang Yuan’s father called to persuade her to get naturalized quickly, but Wang Yuan refused, and his father said angrily: “Chinese image There are thousands of talents like you, and you are a Wang Yuan!" Wang Yuan replied: "Dad, you usually call me patriotic, what are you doing now? I know that China has tens of millions. Ten thousand talents like me, but I have only one China in Wang Yuan!” She finished the call. In this way, she resolutely gave up the opportunity to apply for the "US Presidential Award."

I understand from this story that in our motherland we lack a quality, that is, patriotism. Many Chinese people, because of some honors, some interests to immigrate, they do not want to apply directly, these people, lack of patriotic quality, so we have to learn Wang Yuan!

I have only one China!
