Thousand Island Lake is located in the territory of Chun'an County, Zhejiang Province, 70 kilometers upstream, is the picturesque Huangshan Mountain; down the water, through the Xin'an River, Fuchun River, you can reach the West Lake in Hangzhou. Qiandao Lake is at the center of the “Golden Tourism Line” in the south of the Yangtze River. Qiandao Lake has beautiful mountains and rivers, surrounded by mountains and lakes. There are many islands on the lake. There are dense forests on the banks of the lake. Qishan, different rocks, caves, waterfalls and cultural relics are scattered among them. The vastness of Taihu Lake is better than that of West Lake. There are green water, island green, and mountain green, so people call it the green Qiandao Lake.

The so-called "Thousand Islands" is not an exaggeration. In fact, there are more than 1,000 islands here! At the highest water level, there are 1078 islands on the lake, a few dozen square kilometers, and two or three square kilometers. These islands have their own characteristics, some are famous for their animals, some are famous for their flower trees, and others are famous for their historical sites.

Monkey Island is the “flower and fruit mountain” of Qiandao Lake. When the boat approached the island, the monkeys on the island ran to the shore and waited for the food of the tourists. Among the monkeys, there is a monkey with a burly and high-pitched tail. It is the "Qi Tian Da Sheng" here. When competing for the throne, it beats another male monkey.

Wulong Island, also known as Snake Island. There are four snake farms on the island, thousands of snakes: cobra, silver snake, python, five-step snake, bamboo leaf green... Here people can see the scene of snake free movement, predation and fighting.

On Qingxin Island, there is a group of artificially domesticated sika deer. They are surrounded by tourists, and they are eager to eat the young shoots brought by the tourists. If you are happy, it is still willing to take a group photo with you.

Osmanthus Island, just like its name, the island is full of wild osmanthus flowers, and every autumn, the island is filled with aroma.

“Yu Yue Qiandao Lake” is another landscape of Qiandao Lake. Since the formation of Qiandao Lake, more than 80 kinds of fish have settled in the lake. There are common grass carp, carp, carp, and precious carp and carp. The scene of fishing is very spectacular. One net goes down, a few dozen kilograms, and a few hundred kilograms.

Such a beautiful and rich place actually appeared less than 40 years. It turned out to be a mountainous area. Construction began in 1957 to build the Xin'anjiang Hydropower Station. In 1959, a power station dam with a height of more than 100 meters was built, and the water of Xin'an River was saved and saved, forming a huge artificial lake. Its water storage capacity is equivalent to the water capacity of 3,184 West Lakes. As the reservoir has inundated a lot of mountains, the mountains that are out of the water have become countless small islands, so the reservoir is called Qiandao Lake.

Xin'anjiang Hydropower Station is a comprehensive project. The electricity it emits is supplied to industrial cities such as Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou and the vast rural areas of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. After the regulation of the reservoir, 20,000 hectares of farmland is exempted from flooding, dry land is changed to paddy fields, and grain output is greatly increased; shipping business of Xin'anjiang It has also been developed. The local products such as wood, bamboo and tea in the mountainous areas are continuously transported out by the waterway; fresh fish cultured in the reservoir can supply millions of kilograms per year...

Qiandao Lake has open water and a deep and tortuous lake bay. Around the lake and the island is covered with lush forests. It is this large area of ​​forest that makes Qiandao Lake more beautiful and an emerging tourist attraction. In the past, due to the rising and falling of the lake, the soil on the shore was thin, the drought and flooding were in full swing, and the average plant was difficult to survive. After hard work, the forestry science and technology personnel have cultivated a new tree species. They will not drown in the water for 200 days, and they will spit out new green leaves when they come out of the water. The “water forest” has protected the water and soil on the island, so the forests of Qiandao Lake are so dense.
