Hakka Earth Building
"Hakka Earth Building" is a mysterious place. How many stories are hidden in the rounded square roof on the fully enclosed earthen house? What kind of people live there? What kind of customs are there?
With a bunch of question marks, we came to the Nanjing Tulou Group in Fujian Province today and integrated into this country of the same scenery. There are cascades of low mountains along the way, and evenly strips of tea are planted in neat order. Gradually the earth buildings are sparsely greeted, and a group of hospitable Hakkas are also on the way. Speaking of Hakkas, they are Han Chinese who wandered more than a thousand years ago. From this place to the place where the climate soil is very conducive to survival, it has become a guest here. They created their own language and used their industrious wisdom to build this world-famous building “Tulou”. Gradually, this group of self-proclaimed guests has become the guest family of today. The same surname lives in a earth building. There were no cement or steel bars at the time. The tall earth building has four floors, all of which are made of wood, and the bamboo frame is lapped, and the adobe is used as a wall. On the first floor there is a ancestral hall, kitchen, the second floor is a granary, and on the third floor there is a window to live. The doors are all in the building, and the walls are all outside, round, square, and crescent. It was square at first, and later, in order to create more available space, save the wall surface, better resist wind and rain, impact, and a circular earth building appeared. There are also inner layers, several round sets together. Such a building, the oldest earth building, has a history of thousands of years. Our current building will be demolished in a few decades, showing the hard work and wisdom of the Hakka people!
The youngest of the earth buildings has also been for more than 50 years. The most famous "Zhuangyuan Building" is a family of several sons who are working together. In this yard, eleven doctors were trained. It can be described as Feng Shui! Entering the earth building, the room facing the door is the living room, with photos of the family hanging on it, tea on the table, and homemade smoke. The earth building is a building, a wall, and a small town. The ground has a gutter attached to the outside of the door, there is a bathroom in the circle, and there is a stove in the bathroom to burn the fire. This is not a kitchen, it is used to boil water. When the farm work is finished, the dirty clothes should be placed in the wall cabinet outside the door. The largest earth building has four or five hundred rooms. In this round space, each family, self-proclaimed, self-made, but wants to have a happy family. The Hakkas are small and thin, and their eyes seem to be inexhaustible wisdom and spirit!
The legendary "Tulou King" is 680 years old. Touching his outer wall with his hand, the solid soil seems to tell the vicissitudes of history. After hundreds of years of wind and rain, the time was awkward, and he was also scarred. However, after the repair of the people, he can still face the world and entertain guests from all directions. Touching the tall and solid earth wall, like a stubborn man, I feel the Hakka people's generations, endless hard work and wisdom. Contributed a miracle to the history of world architecture!
Under the simple and simple appearance, it contains diamond-like wisdom. It has spawned generations of generations of Hakka people. They used their hard-working hands to hold up the sky with mud and watch the world!
