Chapter 5: Self-identification of tourism professional interns
Foreword: After two years of learning the basics of tourism management, I gradually became a quasi-professional from a layman. During the two years of study, I have critically studied the knowledge of the tourism management profession and achieved more rational gains. After I was fortunate enough to participate in this internship, I have increased my understanding of the profession and myself. Through the following internship work summary, I hope that I can express my own ideas and ask the teacher to correct me.
Part I Internship Target
The third year of university study begins with a professional class. If the teacher uses a high-pressure policy to let us deepen our understanding of knowledge, the time becomes relatively relaxed, and the free air is extremely strong. Around me, there is a breath of eagerness to try, and there are many people who want to break through. Objectively speaking, people will be very anxious in two situations. One is when the desire is not satisfied, and the other is when the desire is satisfied. It is because I am at a critical moment of understanding that I am trying to prove my abilities in all aspects, and after two years in college, have I made any progress than before. With this goal, with this motivation, I really want to try my strength before I officially step into the society. At that level, there is still some need to improve this purpose. I participated in the organization. Zhuhai Tourism held air show tourism reception work, my internship unit is Zhuhai Sunshine Airport Hotel. In this designated four-star air show designated reception hotel, I conducted a 9-day internship.
The second part of the first knowledge hotel
In my concept, she is just a small kingdom, she is just a microcosm of society. She has no strict organization of government agencies and no youthful vitality of student organizations. She is responsible for a function in social communication, to improve the necessary accommodation for those in need. Maybe I look at it this way, there is a partial one-sidedness, but it means that I still maintain a certain level of understanding when I approach her. When I came to the hotel, I went to the guest room department and finally came to the laundry room. Although I have not adjusted my mentality, the cruelty of reality has become apparent. In the first day of work, I can say that I have not entered the state, and there is no mental preparation. After all, coming here is my request, but this request is a bit harsh on myself and a bit unbelievable. However, I secretly encourage myself, I believe I will do the work here, and do my best. After learning the accompanying book knowledge, I improved my understanding of the management of the laundry room. However, what makes me helpless is that the hotel laundry room in the book is an important part of a well-developed high-star hotel. On the contrary, the laundry room I am in is the edge of the hotel. The management of the hotel has not been paid attention to by the hotel's top management, so the operation of the laundry room has been very unsmooth. A very obvious example is the setting of the laundry room in the hotel organization and its unreasonable. In theory, the laundry room is at least a ministerial unit, and the number of staff should be about 10% of the number of hotel rooms, but There are only 5 people including me. Although the average opening rate during the hotel air show is only 60%, the amount of work is still not small. To this end, in order to maximize the efficiency of the laundry room, the hotel management suspended the washing staff uniforms of one of the three functions of the laundry room. The actual situation is that this does not help to improve the work of the laundry room. After a large number of hotel linens are delivered, the laundry room often has to work overtime to work. There are three reasons for this problem.
First, the management of the hotel management company's new takeover of the hotel is largely due to the fact that there is a sense of doctrine and localism;
Second, after the opening of the hotel, the hotel is implementing an open source and thrifty policy. The capital investment is insufficient, resulting in only 3 sets of hotel linens, and even some departments have only 2 sets, which is strictly inconsistent with the usual 3 to 5 sets;
Third, the hotel's work program is not appropriate, the linen in the guest room belongs to the main material of the laundry room, but the linen is sent to the laundry room often in the afternoon, which has the late departure of the guests during the air show, there are also floors. The reason why the waiter's skill is not high is also the reason why only one linen worker is set, and the reason why the engineering department saves energy on the working time of the laundry compressor.
On the whole, this is because the hotel management has not managed according to the normative standards and made an empirical mistake. At work, I found that the laundry management function of the laundry room as the hotel was not clear. If the cloth is managed by the laundry room and the management of the linen is done well, the hotel management should arrange the organization and staffing to arrange the work. However, the actual situation is that the management of the hotel's linen can be said to be drifting along the edge. After I arrived at the laundry room, there was a work accident that alerted the hotel's top management. After the hotel opened, the purchasing department purchased a batch of room linen, but the quality of the cloth was strictly not enough. The washing room found the running yarn and the wiring brittle during the washing process. After reporting to the superior, All aspects did not attract attention. After a large-scale washing, a large amount of linen was found waiting to be scrapped, which shocked the hotel's senior officials to be held accountable. For the time being, the hotel has removed the reason for purchasing low-quality linen in order to save costs. From this incident, it can be seen that the management sensitivity of the various departments of the hotel to the linen is relatively low. Here, there is a low level of work literacy for grassroots employees, and there is also a reason for the lack of responsibility of the responsible person at the higher level. I think it is more important that the hotel did not really pay attention to the management of the hotel. In my work, I found that the equipment in the laundry room is seriously backward. The management of the linen is also coping. There is no specific responsible person to take responsibility, and there is no clear responsibility. The linen is piled up at random and used at will. This situation can also be seen everywhere in the hotel. For example, Chinese food is delivered every day for a few days. I find that every time the tablecloth is scrapped due to mold, the tablecloth of the western restaurant appears. Since the smoking of the tablecloth is caused by the smoking of the guest, there is no responsible person to follow up. I think this needs the attention of the hotel management and improvement.
