Reading "Good Kid - Childhood Story"

When we were young, we must have some sad things. When we open Roald Dahl’s "Good Kid - Childhood Story," we will feel how happy we are.

This is an autobiography that Dal himself does not want to call "autobiography". It truly records the childhood life of Dar's childhood, from the birth of Dahl to his departure from school to work for Shell Oil Company. Let's open the "Good Kid - Childhood Story" together to experience the childhood story of Dar, which makes the adults a little scared and fascinated by the children.

Dahl is actually very poor. When Dar was only three years old, his older sister, Astrid, died of appendicitis, only seven years old when she died. Her death allowed Dahl's father to say nothing for a long time. He was over-tired and spent a month, and his pneumonia fell. In just a few weeks, Dahl’s mother lost her husband and daughter one after another. This double blow, who knows what it would be like.

When Dahl was seven years old, his mother decided to send him to a regular boy school.

When Dar was nine years old, he had already made a few friends. When he went to school in the morning, he went out alone. On the road, he and several boys of the same age would meet. Every day after school, they had to pass through a candy store. There was a terrible boss, and Dahl and his partners had plenty of reasons to hate her. Her name is Mrs. Plachet, her body is always dirty, and the apron is covered with breakfast: toast crumbs, tea stains and yolks of omelettes, her hands are more disgusting, black Black, all dust and dirt. Another reason they hate Mrs. Prachet is because he is jealous, unless you buy a six-penny candy at a time, she won't give you a paper bag.

Dahl and his friends hid some "babies" in the ground beneath a loose floor in the classroom. One day, when they picked up the floor, they found a dead mouse lying in their baby. This is an amazing discovery. Dahl had an idea: throw the dead mouse into Mrs. Plachet's candy bottle. His partners patted his back, cheered at him, and danced in the classroom. "We will do it today," they called. Then they left the school and walked toward the candy store. In Mrs. Plachet's shop, Sweitz asked for a fruity powder suction cup and tried to block Darth with his body. Then he ordered a licorice lace. Dahl hid in the ranks, and Mrs. Plachet turned back. He quickly picked up the heavy hard candy bottle cap and threw the candy in. Then he put the big hard candy bottle cap back as lightly as possible. His heart pounded and his hands were all sweaty. Of course, it is inevitable that this will be indispensable, and Dahl and his friends have four sticks.

In addition to this story, there are many interesting things, like the female housekeeper put the soap in the mouth of Tweedy to let him spit bubbles, Dahl wears funny French clothes and is clowned by brothers and sisters...

I was deeply intoxicated by this book. He taught me to cherish the childhood time, let childhood become the chocolate on the tip of my tongue, slowly melt, and want to be fine. At the same time, I will tell you the truth: life itself is severe and cruel. We must learn to deal with it in order to become a strong person and a capable person.
