Zhan Tianyou

Zhan Tianyou is an outstanding patriotic engineer in China. The railway from Beijing to Zhangjiakou was first built under his auspices. This is the first railway trunk line designed and constructed entirely by our engineering staff.

Zhan Tianyou took the people's hopes to encourage the staff and said: "Our work must be precise first, 'probably' 'almost' should not be from the mouth of the engineering staff." Zhan Tianyou is meticulous in his work. He works day and night, and persists in the spirit of perseverance.

In April 1909, the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway was completed. With the efforts of himself and the staff, Zhan Tianyou finally built the first railway built by the Chinese themselves. Not only did the Chinese sigh with relief, but also gave the imperialist a powerful counterattack.
