From a young age to the closeness of the land, there is no doubt about the long-term relationship with nature. His reading career began with his mother's "Chinese Pharmacy" and his father's "Storage of Food Pests".

After accepting the orthodox 12 years of basic education in China, there are few good windows in the past twelve years. The two countries participated in the secondary school bio-Olympic competition twice, and won the provincial first prize and the special prize respectively. In the three years of high school, I only worked hard for half a year. I changed my college entrance examination transcript with a total score of 623 by losing eight kilograms. With a passion for biology, he took the initiative to apply for the School of Life Sciences of Shandong University and was accepted.

Entering the university, I found that the ideal free and open ivory tower is still out of reach, but for me it is already "like mud." Although the burden of the course has not only increased more than the number of secondary schools, I prefer this kind of busyness. The teaching of the basic course should not be considered ideal. I think this is a common problem in most universities in China. However, the appeal of the course itself is far greater than my dissatisfaction with the teaching methods. Although I didn't get all the best, it was a smooth pass. It’s not a terrible thing to easily score four levels and six levels in English, just like a pony crossing the river.

In addition to successfully completing the learning tasks, extracurricular reading became my biggest hobby. I saved all the money for coffee in three years and bought all the books. In Beijing in 2001 and Shanghai in 2002, every time I exchanged the money in my wallet with a more substantial book in my bag. Up to now, the three-story bookshelves on the bedside are all filled with various biological reading materials, and they are dubbed by the students as the library branch of Shanda Library. In order to keep abreast of the dynamics of the scientific and technological community, especially the biological world, various magazines have become my biggest products. "SCIENCE" and "NATURE" are hard to find. The Chinese version of "SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN" is not missing for three years.

In school, the biggest paradise is the laboratory, even if the basic experiment has become the most criticized gimmick for science and engineering students. Although I can't fully control the experiment, I strive to change and see that my thoughts are confirmed or denied. It is really a pleasure. The closeness of childhood with the land and the "hospitalization" life of more than ten years made me quite familiar with the experimental operation itself. Especially in animal experiments, it is often me who is called by the classmates to look for the "place of needles" on the ears of rabbits that are filled with ear holes. In the past three years, more than a dozen experimental classes, the doors are excellent, and each time they become the reason for the experimental companions to be lazy, this is also a good memory in college time.

In my spare time, I put on tents and sleeping bags and went deep into the mountains and rivers of southern Jinan. Although there is no scenery in Yunnan, I can still find a rare and quiet place in the city. Bringing a geological hammer and a magnifying glass, Zhang Xia and Shan Wang are good places to go. Say hello to the Ordovician, Cambrian, and Quaternary creatures. Although it has not risen to the level of the molecule, it is considered a small study of evolution.

When it comes to evolution, in the spring of 2003, when the SARS cloud was over the capital, several friends and I were invited to participate in the discussion on the topic of dinosaur extinction with friends from Nanjing University and Tianjin University. Our idea of ​​restoring the reproductive ecology model of dinosaurs has been unanimously affirmed by the famous paleontologists Dong Zhiming and Weinan. Five days after returning from Beijing to Jinan, SARS isolation began. Also because of SARS, the recording of CCTV's program has come to a standstill. Our program is "fortunate" to be replayed four times. I hope that our views will be recognized by more people.

However, compared to discussing the extinction of dinosaurs, I prefer to explore the birth of life. Here, evolution is not only a biological subject, but also a philosophical proposition. My understanding of evolutionary biology and evolutionary genomics will begin in a small article below, and I won't go into details here.

Finally, three years of university life will be over, and future graduate life is about to begin. For me, the Chinese Academy of Sciences system has always been my only choice. What I need is a pure research atmosphere. Kunming Animal Institute is such a place. Regardless of the direction of animal development that I am currently focusing on, or my interest in the direction of evolutionary biology, Kunming has top domestic professors and experimental conditions. If you can be fortunate enough to be a member of the Kunming Institute and work under such excellent research conditions, what else can you say?
