A tribute letter from Comrade Liu Bocheng to the Seventh Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party

Comrade Liu Bocheng, a tribute to Comrade Liu Bocheng, the Seventh Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party: We are holding the comrades of the Seventh Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and I would like to extend to you in the name of the Plenary Session. Greetings and lofty respect! Since the Seventh National Congress of the Party was held in Yanan in 1945, you have been the representative of all previous party congresses and have been elected as members of the Central Committee. Due to age and health, you can no longer participate in the Twelfth National Congress of the upcoming party, and you can no longer continue to hold leadership positions in the party and the state. Your contribution to the Chinese revolution and its lofty character will always be remembered and admired by our entire party. When you were young, you devoted yourself to the Revolution of 1911 and the war against the Northern Warlords. It was a heroic and patriotic soldier. Under the leadership of the party, you launched the Sichuan Shushun Uprising and participated in the launch and leadership of the Nanchang Uprising. You are one of the founders of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, in the anti-"encirclement and suppression" war and the 25,000-mile long march, you, as the chief of the General Staff of the Central Military Commission, fought against the enemy and made outstanding achievements, and resolutely fought against Zhang Guofan's separatist activities. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, you moved to the enemy base in North China and developed the people's guerrilla warfare. It is one of the main leaders in the establishment of the Jinyu and Luyu base areas. During the War of Liberation, you correctly implemented the military deployment of the Party Central Committee. In 1947, it led a 100,000-strong army to cross the Yellow River and advance into the Central Plains, which constituted a glorious chapter of our military's strategic counterattack. In a series of important battles, especially in the battles of the Shangdang, Pinghan, Huaihai, and Dujiang Rivers, you have demonstrated outstanding military abilities in the battle for the southwest of liberation. In order to defeat Japanese imperialism, defeat the Kuomintang reactionaries, and create the People’s Republic of China, you have established immortal feats. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, you have worked hard to train our military's senior commanding cadres and made new and significant contributions to the building of a modernized and regular revolutionary army. Your commanding art and operational strategy are an important part of Mao Zedong's military thinking. You are worthy of being a marshal of war, a Marxist military theorist, and a strong proletarian revolutionary. You are loyal to the motherland, loyal to the people, and loyal to the cause of communism. During the ten years of chaos, you are seriously ill and still care about the safety of the party and the country. You study hard, keep discipline, and never take pride in yourself. You work hard, be honest and honest, worry about the world and worry about it. After the world is happy and happy, share the same fate with the people and soldiers. Your noble character is deeply hopeful inside and outside the party. The whole party, the whole army, and the people of all ethnic groups throughout the country must always remember your achievements. You will always be our role model. The Twelfth National Congress of our Party will, under the guidance of Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought, sum up experience and formulate guidelines and measures for realizing the tasks of the new era; adopt a new party constitution; elect a new central committee to make our party The central government has become a more vigorous combat command and has led the people throughout the country to work hard to create a new situation of socialist modernization. There is no doubt that the hard-to-create careers of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries will surely receive new development. This is what we can assure you and comfort. I sincerely wish you a long life! The Seventh Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, August 6, 1982
