After careful consideration, I decided to end my teaching in the hospital on the expiration date of the contract.

My resignation, the issue of non-return treatment, is not a problem of getting along with people, but I still can't agree with the current humanities and art education system. When I gradually become more aware of the national conditions behind the system, the most appropriate way is to take the initiative to withdraw.

During the five years, my teaching was passive and reluctant, and my time was ruthless. My business was ruined. I hope to work alone before returning to the easel and continue to be an individual artist.

I know that this decision is out of my incompatibility with the system and I am unwilling to adapt. The country's progress is that individuals can hold different positions on something. My departure will stop the waste of teaching.

At present, two of the 2002 Ph.D. students have just graduated from the fourth laboratory. There are also one doctoral students in 2003 and 2004, and graduated in 2006 and 2007. In addition, this year, we recruited the first batch of four graduate students in this lab and graduated in 2007. My resignation, conflict with the academics of these six students, how to solve it, I hope to negotiate with the leaders in a feasible way and do my part.

Teaching situation

The merger of colleges and universities is an important measure for Tsinghua to fully restore the discipline of humanities and art since the "system adjustment" in 1952. The establishment of the Qinghua Academy of Fine Arts was once the focus of the eight major art colleges.

Shortly after arriving, the college announced the opening of a doctoral program for art majors. This is not only the first in domestic art education, but also rare among similar professions around the world. To this end, the college established four pure art teaching research rooms in March, led by Wu Guanzhong, Zhang Wei and Yuan Yunqi, and they presided over the fourth laboratory. Mr. Wu, Zhang and Yuan are highly respected and educate countless people. When I first started teaching, I still didn't have the ability to do it, and the college would break the grid and appoint a heavy responsibility.

The research direction of this laboratory, the initial "contemporary painting on the shelf", the previous year is easy to "contrast research on contemporary shelf painting and image culture."

In May, the first national art school doctoral enrollment was held in this hospital, which is my first enrollment experience. Of the 24 candidates from all over the country, five were short-listed, but they were put on hold because of foreign language. In order to support my first enrollment plan, the hospital approved the admission of five students in the name of a Ph.D.

In 2002, five visiting scholars completed the topic of doctoral thesis, and in order to become a full-time doctoral student, the foreign language examination failed again and closed.

It is the second doctoral student exam in the year. There are 22 candidates in the country, and two doctoral students and two visiting scholars are officially admitted. In the same year, the first time to accept postgraduate examinations, about eight people, none passed the two-class exam.

The profound pros and cons of the test-oriented culture have long-standing consensus in the society, not much to say. In the examination system, especially the foreign language examinations and political examinations in the humanities and arts disciplines seriously hampered and distorted the quality and nature of art education. The former ignores the law of education and the law of talents in the discipline of humanities and art. It not only has a form, but also effectively weakens the minimum Chinese standard of art students. It has been in the past for the doctoral masters of the doctoral examination papers. This has in fact continued to cause the candidates to be culturally literate. linear decrease. The latter is a flagrant violation of Marxism and Deng Xiaoping's thoughts. It is a profound irony for Tsinghua University's two traditions, namely, "single is better than words" and Chen Yin's "independent personality, the idea of ​​freedom."

In the above comments, I have been frank and straightforward to the leaders of the hospital and the secretary of Tsinghua and the principal in writing and oral. With the "two courses" score as the primary choice standard, academic dignity is ruined, humanities art and its education can not have a minimum premise, and the establishment of a world-class university is really talkative.

Due to the long-term implementation of this policy, the humanities and art education surface has prospered and actually regressed. "There is no knowledge, no culture", "there is no common sense in skills", and "there is no professional thinking". It is the current situation of art students. In fact, the new century The overall level of art students is not even as good as the "Cultural Revolution" period.

The quantitative management of humanities and art education reflects the after-effects brought about by academic administration. This is also the general background of the reform of the University of Peking University in the near future. However, it is not feasible to cure the symptoms. If it is not implemented, the current situation is difficult to break through. If it is implemented, it will inevitably repeat the reforms that have not been cured, and form a more deformed education structure.
