Don't get lost in your advantage

Our road to life is like a stormy and muddy journey. Many times, it is not to fall on our own defects, but to fall in our own advantages.

Three good friends traveled together, and they decided to leave at the same time in the morning from the hotel where they stayed, and from different roads to an attraction 20 kilometers away. But they only have one umbrella and one crutches. The oldest friend took the initiative to give the umbrella to the youngest, and gave the crutches to another friend. They didn’t bring anything, and the three started at the same time. Two young friends are grateful to see the big brother leave, encourage each other: Big Brother knows that the weather is bad today, always give us the convenience, we must arrive safely in advance.

Soon after they set off, it was really raining, so when they all arrived at their destination, they were about two hours late than the agreed time.

However, when they arrived and looked at each other, the two young friends were full of doubts about the older friends. The friend who took the umbrella was covered with water and the clothes were soaked. The friend who took the crutches was full of injuries and smashed one foot. When he came, he limped, like a wounded person. However, the big brother who did not bring anything, neither wet clothes nor fell on the body, stood in front of them safely.

Two young friends wondered: We both brought the tools, only you didn't bring anything, but why are we so embarrassed, but the big brother is safe and sound?

Big Brother said nothing, he asked the youngest friend: Why do you have an umbrella, why is it wet? My friend said: When the rain came, I didn't find a place to shelter from the rain because I had an umbrella. I continued to walk in the rain, so the clothes got wet.

Big Brother asked a friend with a cane: You obviously with a cane, how did you fall? My friend replied: Because I was walking with a cane, I was not afraid of muddy and bumpy roads. I didn't want to be slipped by muddy roads several times.

Two young friends look at the big brother, their eyes are full of doubts: What are the secrets of Big Brother?

Big Brother smiled and said: Your experience is the reason why I am safe. I didn't have an umbrella. When I was in the rain, I found a place to shelter from the rain. When the rain stopped completely, I continued to walk, so I was not wet by the rain. Because I didn't have a cane, I didn't dare to take the rough road and look for a good place to go, so I didn't fall. And your mistakes are precisely because of the advantages in your hands.

This is the case in our lives, because defects often remind us, and the advantages always make us forget, so many times it is our advantage that harms ourselves.

There is a saying that "the drowning is all water" is precisely the reason. A person who can't swim is not going to swim in the sea. Those who dare to fight in the sea are all good swimmers. And it is those who swim well, often engulfed by the raging waves.

Therefore, when we have certain advantages, we must not forget. When we have obvious flaws, we can't give up on ourselves. Because the advantages and defects are mutually transformed, the advantages sometimes become cumbersome and become the cause of failure; and the defects sometimes become advantages and become the driving force for success.
