In recent years, the party committee and government of Qijiang Town have put forward the slogan of “vegetable agriculture” and bigger and stronger spice production base based on the geographical advantages of the town, and strive to make the spice dishes into famous brands throughout the city and even the whole country. The dishes are actively guided by the Sanliping, Qiliqiao, Xicaiyuan, Shetangping, Taohuaxi and other villages along the national highway to vigorously develop the vegetable industry and initially form the following spices in the vegetable garden village, Shetangping village and Taohuaxi village. The vegetable base is a seasonal vegetable base based on Sanliping and Qiliqiao. The products are exported to Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou and other provinces and cities, and are sold to Jishou, Huaihua and the county's urban market, realizing “rich market, rich people”. aims. In particular, the spice vegetable base of Xiayuanyuan Village is a model base of the city. The long-term planting scale is mu. This year, 800 acres of planting area have been realized. The annual output value is 5 million yuan and the net profit is 2 million to 3 million yuan. It has effectively promoted the increase in farmers' income.
Our specific approach is: the government guides, the big ones go ahead, the people contribute, and science and technology get rich.
The town party committee and government guided the people to collect information widely according to the actual conditions of each village, adhered to the principle of “multiple varieties and quality adjustment”, actively developed high-quality and pollution-free vegetables, and the staff of the agricultural departments carefully organized scientific and technological training. On-site service, enthusiasm for the people to solve problems, let the people develop the vegetable industry without any worries. In order to expand the scale of planting and form a brand effect, we will actively encourage some large-scale farmers to grow large-scale “trafficking households” at the same time, broaden sales channels, and export the vegetables of this town to other places. On the one hand, the masses of vegetables are not sold out. On the other hand, these “big households” have also received a lot of labor returns. The following comrades Li Fuqiao of Caiyuan Village not only cultivates the vegetables of the responsible fields, but also uses the information resources they have mastered. The village's garlic is sold to Sichuan and Chongqing. The annual income from trafficking in garlic alone amounts to more than 50,000 yuan.
In short, with the correct leadership and strong support from the higher authorities, the vegetable industry in our town has initially formed a scale, but the existing problems cannot be ignored. First, the scientific and technological content needs to be further improved. Second, the planting area needs to be promoted, and the scale effect is still not ideal. The third is that there is still a long way to go to build a pollution-free vegetable base, and no real brand has yet been formed. In the next step, we will make persistent efforts to make the vegetable industry into the "sunrise industry" and "leading industry" in our town.
