Do you have a minute?

One

Her name is Su Yihan and she is a sophomore in Taipei. In May 2008, she came to the World Exhibition Center in Atlanta, USA to participate in the annual Intel International Science Fair. This is the world's largest science competition for middle school students, and many outstanding players participate every year.

Su Yihan's booth is very small, less than 1 square meter, she is also young, only 17 years old. In this exhibition center with a huge area like a forest, Su Yihan is like a ugly duckling smashing into a gloomy glimpse, while the owner of the opposite booth is a white swan shining with dazzling aura - an American student, last year's competition The gold medal winner of the event. The American student was judged and the visitors were surrounded by three floors and three floors. However, there was almost no one in front of the booth of Su Yihan.

Time flies away in a minute, and Su Yihan thinks that if this continues, this time it must be a glimpse. She is extremely reluctant, because she brings a scientific and technological achievement that is widely optimistic in Taiwan by experts and scholars.

"When you are lonely and unknown, your results are no different, and it is very likely that you will be blown away by a worldly wind like a dust." She remembered a word that her relatives and relatives had said before leaving. "No, I must let this sweet fruit be known and appreciated. I can't let my hard work of nearly a year be put into the water. I want to take the initiative!" Su Yihan stepped out of the booth. She felt that she had stepped into this step and entered an infinitely broad and splendid world.

“Do you have 5 minutes?” Su Yihan shouted a judge who wanted to pass by her booth.

The man glanced at her little yellow skin, shook her head and hurried away. She stopped it five times and was rejected: but she was not discouraged, once again stopped a judge, and this person was finally willing to stay! Su Yihan seized this hard-won opportunity and gave a brief introduction to the review. He immediately spoke up: "... This experiment is mainly to explore the catalytic conversion efficiency of fuel cells. The research has valuable reference for improving the structure of mixed contract construction metals, strengthening the application of raw material batteries and alleviating the oil energy crisis..."

Five minutes have arrived, and all she has to say is just finished. So throughout the morning, she finally won several judges as her own audience.

She knows that the judges are all top-level experts. If they try to get a better grasp of their own introduction, she feels that it is too extravagant to ask for a review in five minutes. She decided to take only one minute in the afternoon.

"Please give me a minute?" After lunch, she began to check again. There are more judges who are willing to listen to her introduction. She knows that this is both an opportunity and a bigger challenge. Her own language must be more refined and more appealing. From the expression of the smiling smile dagger who was introduced, she knew that she had received the desired effect.

Sure enough, she succeeded! She not only won the first prize of Intel International Science and Chemistry, but also the biggest award "Young Scientist Award". As a result, she received $58,000 in prize money, an Intel dual-core laptop and tuition subsidy, summer job and study grants. Of the 36 winners of the calendar year, only 6 are outside the United States, and Su Yihan is the second of the two in Asia.
