The pledge of party membership of the Communist Party of China

The following is from Xinhuanet:

Article 6 of the first chapter of the Constitution of the Communist Party of China stipulates: "The probationary party members must take the oath of party membership to the party. The oath is as follows: I volunteer to join the Communist Party of China, support the party's program, abide by the party's charter, fulfill party members' obligations, and implement the party's Decide to strictly abide by the party's discipline, conserve the party's secrets, be loyal to the party, work actively, fight for communism for life, and be ready to sacrifice everything for the party and the people and never rebel."

After the founding of the Communist Party of China, on the party's major and second major, the "Chinese Communist Party Program" and the "Chinese Communist Party Constitution" were respectively passed. Both the "Programme" and the "Articles of Association" put forward relatively clear requirements for party members' words and deeds, and at the later party congress, they have continuously revised the party constitution, thus further improving the requirements of party members.

In the era of the Red Army, the oath of entering the party has been relatively standardized. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, during the War of Liberation, and in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the pledge of party membership was revised.

The party’s 12th National Congress, held in September 1982, first entered the party constitution as a party. It is the first time in the history of the Chinese Communist Party to write the party’s oath into the party constitution. The party constitutions passed by the 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th CPC parties have reaffirmed this article.

The Communist Party’s pledge to join the party is divided into five periods -

During the Red Army period: strictly observe secrets, obey discipline, sacrifice individuals, class struggle, strive for revolution, and never rebel.

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression: I volunteered to join the Communist Party of China, persist in implementing the party's discipline, not afraid of difficulties, not afraid of sacrifice, and struggle for the cause of communism.

During the War of Liberation: I volunteered to join the Communist Party of China and made the following oath: First, I will fight for the cause of communism for life. Second, the interests of the party are above all else. Third, obey the party's discipline. Fourth, not afraid of difficulties, always work for the party. Fifth, to be a model of the people. Sixth, we must keep the secrets of the party. 7. Have confidence in the party. Eight, perseverance will never betray the party.

In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic: I volunteered to join the Communist Party of China, recognize the party constitution, implement the party's resolutions, abide by the party's discipline, keep the party's secrets, and be ready to sacrifice everything for the whole people and fight for the complete liberation of all mankind.

After the Twelfth National Congress: I volunteered to join the Communist Party of China, support the party's program, abide by the party's charter, fulfill party members' obligations, implement party decisions, strictly observe party discipline, conserve party secrets, be loyal to the party, work actively, and be communist. Struggling for life, ready to sacrifice everything for the party and the people, never to rebel.
