Introduction to the Chinese Communist Youth League
The Communist Youth League of China is a popular organization of advanced youth led by the Communist Party of China. It is a school where the majority of young people learn socialism and communism with Chinese characteristics in practice and is an assistant and reserve army of the Chinese Communist Party. The Chinese Communist Youth League was formerly known as the Chinese Socialist Youth League. In August 1920, the Communist Party of China first organized the Socialist Youth League in Shanghai. Around this time, all parts of the country organized a socialist youth league while preparing for party building. In July 1921, the Communist Party of China was established. In May 1922, under the direct leadership of the party, the Chinese Socialist Youth League held its first national congress in Guangzhou and established a national unified organization. In January 1925, at the Third National Congress of the regiment, it was decided to rename the Chinese Socialist Youth League to the Chinese Communist Youth League. In November 1935, in order to unite all anti-Japanese youths and oppose the Japanese imperialist aggression, the party decided to transform the Communist Youth League into a nationally liberated youth group that resists Japan and save the country. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, in order to adapt to the needs of the new situation and new tasks, the Party Central Committee proposed the establishment of a democratic youth league in October 1946. On New Year's Day in 1949, the Party Central Committee made a resolution to establish a new youth youth league in China. In April 1949, the first National Congress of the New Democratic Youth League was held to announce the official establishment of the Chinese New Democratic Youth League. In May 1957, the Chinese New Democratic Youth League held its third national congress and decided to change the name of the regiment to the Chinese Communist Youth League. The conference also decided to link the previous congresses of the Chinese Socialist Youth League, the Communist Youth League and the New Democratic Youth League before and after the liberation. In the 10 years of the "Cultural Revolution", the work of the regiment was forced to pause. In October 1978, the Tenth National Congress of the Chinese Communist Youth League was held. In December 1982, the 11th National Congress of the Communist Youth League was held. In May 1988, the Twelfth National Congress of the Communist Youth League was held. In May 1993, the 13th National Congress of the Communist Youth League was held. In June 1998, the 14th National Congress of the Communist Youth League was held. In July XX, the 15th National Congress of the Communist Youth League was held, and the Central Committee of the current regiment was elected.
The organizational principle of the Communist Youth League is democratic centralism. The national leadership of the regiment is the national congress of the regiment and the central committee it produces. The national congress of the regiment is held every five years and is convened by the Central Committee. In special circumstances, it may be held in advance or postponed. During the period when the National Congress is not in session, the Central Committee implements the resolutions of the National Congress and the entire work of the leadership group. The Central Committee of the Communist Youth League elects a number of standing committee members to form a standing committee. Elect the first secretary and a number of secretaries to form the Secretariat. The plenary session of the Central Committee is convened by the Standing Committee and held at least once a year. During the intersessional period of the Central Committee, the Standing Committee and the Central Secretariat elected by it will exercise their powers and be responsible for the daily work of the whole group. Local leading organs and grass-roots organizations at the provincial and subordinate groups of 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, and the People's Liberation Army, Armed Police, National Railways, National Civil Aviation, China National Organs, State Organs, Central Finance, and Central Enterprises. By the end of XX, there were 71.88 million members of the Communist Youth League in the country, the highest level in history; 212,000 grassroots league committees, 234,000 general league branches, 2.54 million league branches, and 191,000 full-time cadres.
The basic tasks of the Chinese Communist Youth League at this stage are: unswervingly implement the party's basic line in the primary stage of socialism, focus on economic construction, adhere to the four basic principles, adhere to reform and opening up, and build socialism with Chinese characteristics. In the great practice, we will have ideals, ethics, culture, and discipline to pass on people, strive to deliver fresh blood to the party, train young people for the country, unite and lead the youth, self-reliance, hard work, and actively promote socialist material civilization. Political civilization and spiritual civilization construction contribute wisdom and strength to building a well-off society in an all-round way and accelerating socialist modernization.
