Don't miss the dry season of life

When I graduated from high school, my score of the entrance exam was 10 points worse than the university department. Because the college volunteers filled out the report, I was completely downgraded. Life suddenly became bleak, and the time for school was over. I was so embarrassed that I saw someone else happily carrying a big bag and boarding a train to the university. I slept at home all day, and I didn't want to do anything after I got up. I put on a pair of gloves and practiced boxing wildly against the phoenix tree in the yard.

It’s been a while after such a day. If I haven’t been out of the door for a few months, I’m bored. I said to my father, “I will accompany you to work in the field.”

My father looked at me, a little surprised, and then said, "Well, breathe fresh air into the ground. It’s cold, our sweet potato should be planed. Let's work together."

Carrying the farm implements and pushing the car, we set off on the sweet potato on the slope. My sweet potato land is on the hills. The big ones are half acre, but the small ones are only two points. We dried up a sweet potato on the top of the slope.

A moving bone, feeling a lot of body stretched. After a while, I planted a lot of sweet potatoes. However, this piece of land in my home is a bit special, two heads high and concave. We are a region with severe water shortage. The sweet potato leaves in the middle of the land have been lush in the late autumn. It is a pity that the sweet potatoes from the ground are as small as eggs. The sweet potatoes in the two fields are big. Very, and in my experience, this sweet potato has the highest flour extraction rate if it is to be processed.

I am very puzzled: "The two ends of the ground can't hold water in the rainy days. So dry, how long the sweet potatoes are still so good; the middle of the ground is moist, the leaves are good, but the fruits are too inferior."

My father looked at me confused and said to me seriously: "You don't understand the kid. The sweet potato grows when it is strong. It is just the dry season here. The rain is especially low. The sweet potatoes at both ends are not absorbed. More water, it is desperate to drill underground, the leaves grow to a minimum; the sweet potato in the middle of the ground certainly absorbs more water, but the sweet potato is drought-resistant, the water is more than the leaves are not long fruit "My father paused and looked at me and said, "The same is true for people. There are sad hurries. They all have their own dry season. The key is to see how you grow. The more dry season, the longer the fruit. The more you have to work hard to build your own roots. Kid, this simple truth is that I have long wanted to tell you, but you can't turn around."

I didn't think that the father who was usually stupid could tell such a profound truth. In the sweet potato field in the late autumn, I learned the knowledge I couldn't learn in the books.

That winter, I went back to school to repeat, and in the second year I successfully passed a university. Whenever I encounter difficulties, frustrations, discrimination, or even the shadow of failure, I will remember my father's words, so I warn myself: Don't be afraid, people who have not had a dry season! The more the dry season, the more I have to be tough, unswerving, and not to miss any chance of growth in the dry season.
