Inspirational Beauty - Going out of your prison

Inspirational Beauty - Going out of your prison

Mandela was held in Robben Island prison for 27 years because of his opposition to the apartheid policy.

In 1991, Mandela, who was released from prison, was elected president of South Africa. At the inauguration ceremony, Mandela got up and gave a welcome speech. After introducing the politicians from all over the world in turn, he said that he was most pleased that the three prison guards who had been guarding him at the Robben Island prison also came; immediately, Mandela invited them to get up and introduce them to everyone.

When the old Mandela slowly stood up and respectfully paid tribute to the three guards, all the guests at the scene were shocked and the reverence for Mandela was born. Mandela’s big chest and tolerance are even more shy to those who have abused him.

Later, Mandela explained to his friends that he was grumpy when he was young, and that life in prison made him learn to control his emotions, so he survived. The years of jail gave him time and motivation, and he also learned how to deal with the pain he suffered. On the day of his release, he was in a calm mood: "When I stepped out of the cell and walked through the prison gate to freedom, I knew that if I could not leave my grief and resentment behind me, then I was still in prison."

What a wise piece of this, it comes from a reflection and sentiment of a great man on a tortuous life; this is a simple passage, and the truth is applicable to each of us.

The suffering of the soul is what every one of us has endured. Perhaps it is the betrayal of a lover, perhaps the slander of a colleague, perhaps the friend's jealousy... The misfortunes that made us angry and resentful, so we look for every opportunity to complain, to fight back, to retaliate... At that time, we I forgot the bright sunshine outside the window and the smiling faces of my loved ones. One soul indulged in the abyss of pain. Like the person who cursed the "fallen" in his life, what he ruined was actually the happiness of his own life.

It is difficult for us to have the broad mind of Mandela at one time, but we can still try to keep the pain and resentment behind, with a free and grateful heart, to find the happiness that truly belongs to you.
