Inspirational article: Life is expensive and persevering

Confucius, now known as the world, surnamed Kong, Mingqiu, and Zhong Ni, is a famous thinker, educator and politician in the Spring and Autumn Period of China, and the founder of Confucianism in China. The reason why he became a sage of three thousand disciples and famous people is inseparable from his hard work and diligence. It is also said that the average person often says that "genius comes from diligence."

Shi Shuyan, the mother of Confucius taught him to read and literate when he was just three years old. By the time he was four years old, he had already read more than a hundred words.

One day, his mother asked him: Did the words I taught you back yesterday?

Kong Qiu said: I have remembered it.

Mother said: Well, I will test you tomorrow morning.

Kong Qiu sleeps, is with his brother. That night, after he got into the bed, he said to his brother: Brother, did you remember the words that you taught me?

My brother said: I remember it. how about you?

Kong Qiu said: I have practiced many times, maybe I have remembered it, but I am not sure. I will test me tomorrow morning. If I don’t, my mother will be very sad and sad. No, I must get up and practice a few more times.

His brother was touched by his hard study and filial mother's spirit. He said with distress: The weather is cold, don't practice it, just write on my stomach. I can feel right or wrong, and I will do a check on what you write!

So Xiao Kongqiu wrote on his brother's chest. Every time you write a word, you will hear it. But the sound is getting lighter and lighter, and when he finishes writing the last word, the sound can't be heard. After his brother finished his last word, listening to his even breathing, looking at his sweet and laughing sleep, both distressed and pitifully smiled.

Early the next morning, during the mother's assessment, he passed it again and again. The mother was pleasantly surprised: This child is a god, and he taught him so many words the day before yesterday. After only one day, he is so familiar, and he will be able to do great things in the future!

Kong Qiu looked at her mother's happy face and smiled happily. However, in this smile, there are two lines of tears.

Standing next to my brother, I deeply understand him, knowing that behind his superhuman talent, more is the younger brother's perseverance and hard work.

I heard someone say such a passage: the earth and stone became a mountain, and the wind and rain rose from here; the water flow became an abyss, and the dragon came out from here; the accumulation of good deeds developed a noble character, and the spirit was improved, the saints The state of mind is thus available. Therefore, without accumulating a one-and-a-half-step journey, there is no way to reach a thousand miles away; without accumulating small flowing water, there is no way to merge into a river. A thousand miles of horses jumped, not less than ten steps; bad horse-drawn carriages can go very far for ten days, and its success lies in keeping going. If you stop it after a few moments, then the rotten wood is also constantly inscribed. If he keeps carving, then the stone can also be carved successfully. There are no sharp claws and teeth, strong bones, but you can eat up the soil, you can drink the spring down, because it is dedicated. The crab has six legs. In fact, there are eight feet and two crab claws. But if there are no snakes and sly caves, there is nowhere to hide. This is because it is impetuous.

Just as the pre-Qin dynasty said in "Xunzi·Encourage Learning": "When you slap it, the dead wood does not fold; you can't give up, the stone can be smashed." That is the truth.

In fact, there is such a story: the famous philosophers and educators in China at the end of the Warring States period have to persevere and persevere in educating people to do things in "Encouraging Learning." The word literally means that it is carved all the time, even things as hard as metal and stone can be worn. Among them, "engraving" is a fine carving method.

In terms of philosophical thinking, Xunzi believes that natural development has its objective laws; it opposes destiny, does not believe in ghosts and gods, and believes that people will win the day; it also advocates adapting to the local conditions and adapting to the times, giving full play to human talents and promoting the development of all things. In education, he wrote a very famous article - the "enjoyment" that I just said above, to clarify his educational thoughts. In "Encouraging Learning," he describes many of his theories in education and learning, and his influence on later generations is far-reaching. For example, he believes that it is very necessary for people to receive education and study hard, so that they can “be blue and blue, and better than blue”, so that students surpass teachers and future generations are better than predecessors. In "Encouraging Learning," Xunzi also used the engraved stone to illustrate the truth that learning must be persevering. He wrote: "When you slap it, the dead wood does not fold; the perseverance, the stone is awkward."

Later generations summed up this idiom according to the perseverance of this place. The meaning of this sentence is that if you can't keep going, you can't even break the dead wood; but if you keep on carving, metal and stone will be worn. Learning knowledge is a process from small to many, accumulated over time. The profound knowledge is accumulated one by one. The so-called "do not accumulate steps, no miles, no accumulation of small streams, no rivers." Therefore, people must persist in their studies, and only then can they succeed.

The last four articles I wrote about me last night. The fifth is now twenty years old. Am I not continuing to struggle in the spirit of perseverance? Let me talk about the future if I am carving dead wood or gold stone! Use a popular saying from the Beijingers: It’s a horse, pull it out!
