Expert advice: do not take the extremes of the resume

The same is a job search, almost all undergraduates hold a thick resume, but graduate students mostly only hold a few application forms. Experts caution: to do a resume can not go to extremes.

At a few recent job fairs, the reporter noticed a situation in which the undergraduate resumes were scored with a full score, and the beautiful cover, recommendation letter, resume, various certificates, and transcripts were all complete. In contrast, graduate students' resumes are rather “small”: many resumes have only one piece of paper, which succinctly describes the basic situation of the individual, school performance and practical experience. Some science graduates even make their resumes in tabular form, and a registration form condenses all the information.

Huang Ying, a graduate of the Physics Department of Huazhong Normal University, told reporters that he believes that resumes are only symbols of personal ability. There is no need to do a lot of “flower racks”. Only when interviews can they truly reflect the ability of job seekers. At the same time, there are still many graduate students who believe that graduates with master's degrees have little problem in finding a job, and their resumes are too fancy, which makes the other party's illusion "water." Most undergraduates are not confident in job hunting, and hope to sell themselves out through good “packaging”.

What kind of resume will the employer favor? Various companies have different opinions on this. A person in charge of recruitment in Jiangsu Province believes that although graduate students do have a great advantage in job hunting compared with undergraduates, this should not be a simple reason for the preparation of resumes. If the resume has only one piece of paper, it is not possible for the employer to know the situation in detail, which will also affect the job search effect.

Wang Yongsen, human resources commissioner at Wuhan Uni-President, said that during the recruitment process, the process of reviewing resumes is generally 2 to 4 minutes. A too long resume is not “pleasant”.

Experts in the provincial and municipal talent market suggest that the resume is too thick and too thin. Graduates should treat their resumes as appropriate according to their own circumstances. If an academic paper is published in an authoritative magazine, it can be attached to the resume to indicate his qualifications, but the general experience should not be too long. However, although the resume is simple and concise, it is not advisable to simply “one piece of paper”.
