Design questions to avoid in the questionnaire


Designing various types of questions and questions in the questionnaire is also a matter of learning. It cannot be designed at will, otherwise it will affect the effect of the survey. Therefore, the following questions should be avoided when designing the questionnaire:
Avoid affirmative statements When designing a questionnaire, you cannot be sure that the respondent has a certain product, for example:

What brand is the automatic razor frame you use?
Is your home computer a compatible or branded machine?
What brand of soda do you like to drink?

The correct design approach should add "filtering" issues before affirmative issues, such as:

Have you bought an automatic razor holder?
Has your family purchased a computer?
Do you like to drink soda?
Avoid using guided statements The so-called guiding statements are that the words used in the question are not "neutral", but the direction in which the respondent is prompted for an answer, or the investigator's own point of view. E.g:

×× brand wine, which was enjoyed by the emperor in the past, are you planning to buy it?
×× suit, is a sign of men's chic, are you ready to buy?
The ×× card-assisted bicycle can also make the elderly lady’s feet windy. Are you planning to buy it?

The conclusions resulting from such questions will lack objectivity and authenticity.
Avoid using fuzzy statements. The following example is a fuzzy statement:

Do you wear T-shirts often?
Do you love to wear down jackets?
Do you drink soda regularly?

This kind of vague question, the respondent is not good to answer, such as "Do you often wear T-shirts?" If a person without a T-shirt, he can also answer: "I don't have a T-shirt." If a person with a few T-shirts is not good to answer. If he answers "often wear it," it is not right, because spring, autumn, and winter are impossible to wear. If he replies, "Don't wear it often," it's not right, because he wears it often during the summer. So the correct question should be:

Do you often wear T-shirts in the summer?
Do you love to wear down jackets in winter?
Do you love to drink soda in summer?

With such a change, the respondent will answer the question and the conclusion of the investigation will be more accurate.
