Environmental Advice: Recycling used batteries starts with me

Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau Director:
Hello!
I am an ordinary elementary school student. Today I want to talk to you about recycling used batteries.
The battery is an indispensable item in our life. It brings us a lot of convenience, but its harm is serious. As long as the power in the battery is exhausted, people don’t know how to deal with it. Batteries: buried in the soil, the outer shell of the waste battery will gradually rust, rot, and then waste acid, waste alkali, etc., a No. 1 waste battery will destroy a square kilometer of land, become a useless land; The button-sized battery is thrown into the water. The heavy metal in the waste battery can pollute 100,000 cubic meters of water. The living organisms in the water will also be polluted. If people eat these foods into their stomachs, they will have Life is dangerous. You said that this is not a harm to humans after all?
Our country is the largest producer of consumer dry batteries. In 1980, China's dry batteries produced by the United States surpassed the United States to become the world's number one, accounting for 47% of the world's total production. More than 6.5 billion people in the world lose an average of one waste battery per month. Then there are about 798 billion used batteries in a year. How many billions of used batteries will damage the environment, and how many people will die because of the harm caused by batteries? Waste batteries contain heavy metals such as cadmium, lead, mercury, nickel, zinc, manganese, etc. Heavy metal cadmium can cause cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, which can cause renal failure. Lead can cause congenital mental retardation in infants, dementia in the elderly, and carcinogenesis in the elderly. . Therefore, it is extremely urgent to solve the problem of recycling used batteries. To this end, I sincerely offer you some suggestions:
1. Strengthen students' understanding of the relevant knowledge of used batteries, and carry out some educational activities and lectures.
2. Broadcasting and TV, broadcasting some public service advertisements on used batteries; publishing relevant knowledge on newspapers and computer networks. Let the general public understand its harmfulness and enhance environmental awareness.
3. Create more waste battery recycling bins and inform the address so that you can send the used batteries to the recycling bin.
4. I hope to design a new type of trash can. There are only two types of trash cans: they are recyclable and non-recyclable. I hope that a small compartment will be added to one side of the new type of trash can, which is specially used for discharging used batteries for recycling.
I hope you can consider the above suggestions. Environmental protection requires everyone to participate and work together to start from me and start small things. As the public service advertisement said: Small power is also a kind of support. Let us go in that direction and pursue the goal together! Make our home more beautiful!
